For the last 4 weeks, on the way to work I go past some road construction. On a small road coming off the main road, there's one of those guys with a red flashing stick. He's there - it seems - to stop large trucks from going down the small road (although I've never seen him have to do this, coz they wouldn't want to anyway). Anyway, in the last month I have seen him stand there all day every day and basically do nothing apart from look bored and a bit embarrassed. It must be a disheartening task. Any other entries?

I have an old computer and some other equipment I am thinking of getting rid of and wondering if the trip to Hard Off or similar shop is worth the journey. Does anyone have any experience with one of these shops and do they actually pay you anything decent at all? Thanks!

I find I sweat less when I am in better shape and fitter (is that imagined or real?). The smell of sweat on some of the commuter trains in the evening in summer is almost unbearable

Hard to get them there choco ones. Our local cake shop does some scrummy rum/raison type cookies that go down really well with the people back home.
