  1. Excellent book and the author is a great guy. It was a pleasure to guide Jimmy around Nagano. We had a lot of fun
  2. The truth is out there somwhere. The official resort homepages states 50cm, whereas Nozawa Now only gives us 17cm. That is quite a discrepancy.
  3. Why bother skiing Mt. Fuji in January? It sure is an interesting experience, but like Toque says: do you really want to waste your short stay in Japan to ski Mt. Fuji? There is plenty of better BC terrain.
  4. Nozawa, what else. But even in Nozawa you will find many ugly buildings, built of concrete and with no sense for the surroundings.
  5. Between May and October I work from 9am to 8,9 or 10pm. From November to April from 9-6 and every second week from 11 to 6. With this schedule I can unfortunately enjoy daylight saving time only on weekends in summer
  6. I am going to see (hear) his presentation on October 28. Really looking forward to that. Heard him like 20 years ago for the first time and was really impressed by his personality. This guy is a phenomenon.
  7. B sample was also positive, but he is still insisting that he had never taken any banned substances. Hm... B sample positive
  8. Just read it on the news. After Ulrich, Basso and other favorites were suspended before the tour even started, it now seems that Landis' amazing comeback was not a miracle at all. Cnn/Si
  9. Argentina 6 Serbia 0 So far the best teams in the tournament are definitely Argentina and Spain. What happened to Brazil? If they play as weak as against Croatia Japan has a chance to beat them.
  10. 14 Man, do I miss Nozawa, where I usually had 80+ a season. Could have been even more, but I prefered not to go out when conditions weren't at least ok.
  11. There are actually quite some people in St. Anton, who know where Nozawa is. And they not only know, they have also visited Nozawa.
  12. It's been a very good season here in Austria. But concerning powder days, Japan wins.
  13. I totally agree. Just hate the sound of skiing over a rock. Happens a lot of times in Austria. Almost never happened to me in Japan.
  14. Watching the opening ceremony right know. Can't wait for the men's downhill on Sunday.
  15. Everyone that missed this year's festival should take a look at this Nozawa Fire Festival 2006 It is in German, but you will get the idea.
  16. It's called Fujiten snow resort. http://www.fujiten.net/pc/ Really, really small though and not exciting at all. However you can get a nice snap shot with Fuji in the back.
  17. Happy to hear that. Promise me you that you will take it to Nozawa many times this season.
  18. Looking at the pic of my (old) car and all the snow you guys already got there, makes me wanna pack my stuff and move back to Nozawa soon.
  19. Rocky V. Sorry to take away your big plus, but lifts are not operating from 8:20 to 5:00. What you saw refers to the general opening time of the ressort. English HP will probably not be updated anymore. At least not as long as they aren't going to employ me again
  20. God bless central heating. Didn't miss that stinky heaters for a second. Miss Japan a lot though.
