Donuts? No! Is that the thing to do?! Didn't know there were donuts in Yuzawa anyway, is it Mister Donuts? -
I was in north eastern Chiba on the day it all happened. Certainly the biggest and most persistance earthquake experience I have had. They just kept on coming and coming, almost as if it would never stop. Still getting them though thankfully not as often and not that strong for the most part, latest I felt was yesterday.

geeski replied to cheeseman's topic in General off-topic discussions
Do you take requests, Cheeseman? I admire the way you stick at this. Have been lurking for a while but decided to take the plunge. Keep it up! -
In Tokyo on the east side close to Chiba.

Kagura/Mitsumata update
geeski replied to SnowJapan's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
I didn't get to Kagura this season - it's usually late season when I get there and this year things happened, I see the snow is quickly melting away up there now, but they did well. -
Zao 10/11
geeski replied to ILoveZao's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
I have been to Zao twice in my time here in Japan and it is a really good place to visit. Pity it is not closer to other stuff, but you can easy go just there and have 3-5 days. As others have said, finding a place to eat in the evening is a bit of a chore if you aren't staying, though if you are with car Yamagata city area is just 20 minutes or so drive. -
Sometimes a company will ignore the advice of a native speaker to go with something silly and suited to Japanese taste, like someone else said. I have seen this first hand though it was for a product aimed at the Japanese market. You might wonder why they would want English in there anyway if that was the case, but that's a whole different issue. Seems daft for Niseko related stuff to go this way, the company really must have no clue.

I dropped into the office in Yuzawa last year that was a good position. Good to meet you guys. Good luck in your new office.
