  1. Very interesting. It sure is going to be interesting to see how the overseas market responds in the end. I reckon people will be back but will leave it later. Unless something baaad happens. Lady Gaga says it's ok, so it must be!
  2. I really like the Gifu area. Friend lives on the outskirts of the city and I have been down there to stay a few times and had a trip up into the mountains. Not been to the snow though.
  3. This brings back memories. I was totally amazed at how much snow there was in town.
  4. I will never forget when we were in Yuzawa this season, in the middle of January. The snow was just madness, piled up so high and coming down so hard on one day - luckily later on in the day when I was nearly finished anyway. (Beginner alert!)
  5. Hi New here and still quite new to Japan. And new to skiing too. I went out for the first time this season with some friends and I went to the Tsugaike Kogen resort in Nagano and the Iwappara in Niigata. I found both of them to be perfect for beginners, and notice that this has been said on these forums before as well. Really just right for someone like me. Also went to Naeba which was fine but not quite as good a fit. Hoping to take it up another level next time.
  6. Some of hte signs and things here, not only ski resorts are just so funny. Incredible to think they wouldn't quickly ask a native speaker to check things over.
  7. 6 and this was my firt time ever. I had 2 days at Iwappara in Yuzawa. Then 3 days in the Hakuba area - Tsugaike Kogen and Goryu. And then a day trip up to Naeba. Loved it and can't wait for next season.
  8. I only came to Japan in October last year and I had never been skiing. Now I have had 6 days out skiing, so coming here was what started me!
