  1. Sorry to here that MitchPee. Let's def meet up for a drink next week. Are your PMs working?
  2. If I could make a request for the people in Hirafu: So the international ATM doesn't take MasterCard. How about what it does take? Thanks
  3. Man, that sucks =( So no international ATMs in Hirafu at all?
  4. MB, on my old team @ Microsoft our documentation person is deaf. Whenever she was at our meetings she had the interpreter as well. She's super chill. I think she reads lips, but then I talk fast & mumble so that doesn't work so well, d'oh! So most of the time we end up chatting via Messenger or just using good old Notepad But big props to you for being able to do the interpretter thing. Half the time I'm not sure what I'm saying let alone someone else!
  5. That def helps, thanks Korbzy. But it's ambiguous what "since last update" means and you can't really look back over the past few days.
  6. I think that it has a spiffy interface for the forecast. But it'd be nice if it also tracked the reported snow falls for the last few days and up to a week. Not to sound ungrateful though, I love the site and the Now! pages I just find it difficult to see what's been going on the past few days. But I wouldn't be surprised if the info is there already and I'm missing it! Cheers.
  7. I've done Ryokan & Hostel TOUKAISOU Asakusa a few times and have liked it. Choices between private rooms or hostel/dorm style. Not in central Tokyo but it's on the Ginza line (if memory serves). Cheap and chill. Just search for Asakusa Toukaisou and you should find their website.
  8. I'm 6'5 and weigh 220lbs (so about 193cm and 99kg) and I ride around 165. You'll be fine. It's all about the board feeling stable and being able to do what u want to with it. Wouldn't stress too much. Like most things your preferences will evolve over time.
  9. Dave Thomas never cut corners in life, not even on his burgers.
  10. I've done a rope pull and tbars before. Rope poll looks semi-similar to the nut-cracker but you just hold on to the rope. Of course it gives a good jerk when you grab on. And it shredded a pair of my gloves as well, lame. The one I've used was really short too, I don't think they're used for medium distances even. I did the tbars at whitsler, they're kind of tricky but not to bad. Just your leg gets tired since you have to stand the whole way when it's pulling you up hill. I did fall a few times, just gotta make sure to get out of the way if someone is behind you

SF has a large asian population and some of the clubs we'd go to are de facto Asian clubs. One time I was seriously the only white person there...until another white guy walked up to me and literally gave me a high five and said "alright another white guy!" Originally Posted By: Wee

  13. minto: For Log Kabin I inquired for Jan31 - Feb14 and was told it was full. It's possible that it has some vacancies during that span, but not for the entire time. I didn't ask for any details.
  14. I'm a Niseko newb as well. I'm doing Pension Kanon. They have a Log Kabin as well, which seemed to be more hostel style. I was going to do that but they were booked when I'm going to be there. I'm guessing that at both it shouldn't be that hard to find some people to ride with. When are you going to be there?

  16. Rough year for MS, cut 5000 people and no merit based raises for anyone. Only way to get a bump in pay is a promotion. It'll be interesting what happens during the next annual review.
  17. I have a pass to Snoqualmie, which is the closest to Seattle but def also the least interesting. But it's all about the convenience. It's nice to be able to hit night boarding after work Stevens and Crystal are about 2 hours away. Driving there isn't to bad, but coming back always feels twice as long. So for me it's about being lazy really Baker more like 3 I think (although I haven't been).
  18. The NW US had a good dump in early/mid Nov. But since then it's warmed up, rained, and most recently gone into a cold snap. But no new snow since that first dump. If you got out there for that ~1 week span it was good, but since then it's been m'eh. I've been wanting to go riding again but it hasn't been worth it.
