Toe to heel?
shadowtec replied to Ivan's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Hummm first of all LESSONS LESSONS LESSONS. I taken private lessons and it is an investment worth taking. I cannot say for you but my personal experience is work on where you place your center of gravity. if it is leaning to the toe side (which is easy) then the board will want to tilt to that side and naturaly turn. same with the heal side. but it is unnatural for the body so it will take time to get a handle on. use your hips and lower body. for example if you want to go heal side you would want to try and show your 'Tall Timber' to the world. the board will want to turn and it will do t -

well you can with windows sharing after you setup a basic network (with a network switch or crossover cable (google it) just have a folder that you can dump to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304040 I hope this helps if I need to move files at work or onto a unknown computer (or one I do not trust which is all of them) I burn to a CD or DVD then shred them afterwards -

Well on my first trip I went in mid to late Dec. I was a day short from the first major dump of the season and despite the fact there was little snow (as far as the locals said) there was enough to keep a first timer happy) on the 2nd trip (and future trips due to work commitments in Jan) I go during FEB. it's like Dear Penthouse for boarders I would like to think about a small local trip (around Tokyo area) in late Dec but I don't know how things will be then

Aussie and NZ Snow 2011
shadowtec replied to blu's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
I was in Thredbo about a week ago. the snow was patchy in area but enough to keep me happy (must not take edges on patches where there was no snow) I think there is a bit of a dump over the past 24 hrs so I am thinking about another trip -

yeah I get cover each time I go overseas on a snow trip. But as far as I understood my policy it would never cover me if the case was for a pre existing problem (like my diabetes) that being said the cover was for incase I broken something boarding (and needed a expensive evac to aus) -

Well I have a 3 day trip booked at Threadbo (I have not been there for a few years) I hope to have a couple of more trips but I like to focus on another trip to Japan (2 weeks to a month I wish for) -
I will visit in Feb.. Japan dose not need a handout. They want people to spend at their shops, drink at their bars and ski or board at their resorts. I am still planning my trip bit thats a long way off at this stage. I have to admit after thinking about it. I would invest in some grey matter into what I would need to do in-case there is another problem over there. That and pack the abseil kit... The hotel I was staying in at Tokyo did not have a staircase..
