It's Friday, 17th May 2024, and the last day for the ski lift of the season at Yokoteyama, wrapping up the season in Shiga Kogen.

Golden Week is over and today it's 'back to work' for many. It's a grey, cloudy and damp morning. A bit windy, too.

Some pretty rough weather around Wednesday but the Route 292 connecting us with Gunma is now open. That means you can get to the base of Shibutoge, too.

Yesterday was cold. It started off wet and then we did actually get some snow! Up to 5cm or so in places. Always great to see snow.

Late March greetings from Shiga Kogen. We have fresh snow!

Some wet snow overnight but it has changed to rain this morning... however, in some places it is still snowing (example Okushiga Kogen).

The snow has eased off and there is a bit of sun shining through the remaining clouds this morning.

As my Myoko colleague said this morning... the madness of 2024 continues.

This season is truly crazy!

We had some snow falling until early this morning and there is another nice new layer around areas with ski areas reporting from 2cm to 10cm.

It might be the second half of March, but it's like a blizzard out there as I write this.

After that snow yesterday we have been enjoying some blue skies this morning.

Wow!

It was really cold early morning and while we will have sun today snow conditions should be keeping very nice this morning.
