It is a glorious morning today with the white snow sparkling in the sunshine and alomost nothing in the way of wind.

Good and bad news for today. The good news is that there has been 10cm new snow since yesterday and the base on the mountain is rapidly increasing.

Yesterdays major event was the rain that fell in Furano and turned the nice snowy streets into slush.

The new week has been welcomed in by a nice dump of new snow.

If yesterday was good today is even better with a nice fresh layer of powder on the upper mountain.

It has been snowing lightly all morning and has just started to come in quite heavy.

It is all good news in Furano with a nice deep carpet of fresh snow all through the village.

The winter weather has truly settled in and we have woken up this morning to find the first significant snowfall at village level.

The weekend finally brought winter conditions to Furano with cold temperatures and snow down into the township.

Furano Ski Area will not be able to open tomorrow on 17 November as originally proposed. More snow is needed to be able to commence operations.

With the proposed opening of Furano Ski Resort being on November 17, which is only 5 days away, and no snow on the resort at the moment, being able to open the resort by next Saturday looks to be in doubt.

Furano Ski Area has a planned opening date of 17 November 2012 which is only 9 days away!
