It is all good news in Furano with a nice deep carpet of fresh snow all through the village. The graders have been busy clearing the streets for the first this winter and the locals were up early honing their shovelling skills. The snowfall in the village overnight was 18cm and the snow is still coming down.
The new snow will enable Furano Ski Area to commence operations tomorrow. It is intended to operate Furano Ropeway for access to the upper mountain, and the operating lift for skiers will be the Downhill Romance #2 double chair.
