With the proposed opening of Furano Ski Resort being on November 17, which is only 5 days away, and no snow on the resort at the moment, being able to open the resort by next Saturday looks to be in doubt.
The good news is that temperatures are finally feeling wintery and are hovering just above freezing in the low single digits. We awoke Sunday morning to frosty conditions and this morning the temperature at base was 3c with a light dusting of snow evident on the top of the resort.
Light snow is forecast at high elevations for Friday. Fingers crossed for the first big dump of the season.
