Furano Ski Area has a planned opening date of 17 November 2012 which is only 9 days away!

Currently there is no snow cover on the ski area so we are hoping some big snow arrives over the next week.

This morning we have awoken to heavy rain which has now stopped. There is low cloud hanging around the resort and temperatures at the moment are an unseasonally warm 13c with freezing level at 1800m. The freezing level will decrease during the rest of the week going down to 400m by Saturday evening.

The good news is light snow is forecast for the upper mountain during Friday so we are hoping this turns into something more substantial to kick things off.

Stay tuned for more updates as we head towards opening day.
