The weekend finally brought winter conditions to Furano with cold temperatures and snow down into the township. While it has been snowing continuously since Saturday the snowfall has been very light with around 2cm accumulation at village level. The ground is now frozen and we can expect it to stay that way through the rest of the week along with continuing snowfall. The ski area will open as soon as the base depth reaches the required level for operations to commence.
