Simply referring to workmates, both seniors and juniors, as Bob, Carol, Ted or Alice ..... or the more formal Mr./Mrs./Ms. Smith, just won't do for keeping everyone in their place. I'm led to believe Bill Gates of Micro-land is comfortable being genially addressed as "Bill" or formally as "Mr. Gates". Titles also have that Military edge to it (IMHO) - you know like Sergeant, Lieutenant, Major, Captain.....! Link to post Share on other sites

I'd like to ask the executives "What's wrong with Japanese business titles, Shacho, Fuku-shacho??" They think English title sounds like something changed and new! But it's nothing.
