its-a-clock 0
I tried to get an appointment at a doctor (bit of backache that won't go away), and I got REFUSED. I didn't get a satisfactory explanation, but not happy. Has anyone else had any similar experiences?
miteyak 0
Still not dealt with your 'doctor' issues...
big-will 7
Was it THE doctor?
veronica 2
did I miss something?
Yuki's Passion 1
Maybe you need to have connections to get a doctors appointment in this country. Did you try bribing the receptionist? Im sure 10,000 should be sufficient. Lemme know if it works
mfurmane 0
I have seen a doctor on a number of occasions and have had no problems. Quite good experiences actually. I never make an appointment though, just show up.
kintaro 0
Do you have insurance? Did they give you a clue as to why they REFUSED you?? Sounds odd.
snobee 0
Could be as Kintaro suggested - they thought you might be uninsured. Also if you mentioned you had back problems and it was a general practioner they may have felt all their years of training and practice didn't qualify them enough for backs. Or they may have chosen to "specialize" in lung complaints or nose & throats (with no specialist training - just an interest) so definitely couldn't see you. All of these excuses are lame though. If it wasn't these then it may have been the dreaded "D" word. Hope the backs feeling better & Good luck.

indosnm 0
Maybe your request for an appointment was refused! I don't think that you can make appointments here. usually all you have to do is just show up, like someone has already said.
Dims 0
Yeah, show up and wait patiently seemed to be the go when I was there. Don't forget to change into their funky smelly diseased sick people slippers.
indosnm 0
People seems to always bitch and moan about doctors here but my experience has always been good. I have had to have several X-rays after fights and all i had to do was show up, wait up to 10 minutes talk to the doc and he would send me into the x-ray room and in 5 mins we would be looking at the shots. Now if in Oz I would have to make an appointment ( if one is free or find a doc who is) and wait at the clinic. Doc would then have to refer me to the X-ray clinic where waits are a few hours. Doc would then receive the X-rays maybe later that day or the next day. more waiting etc etc... you get my drift? The whole process would take a day! and cost an arm and a leg! I DO like the privacy of a GP in Oz though.
Dims 0
Yeah I have to say besides the funky slippers my experience was pretty good too. I hade to go every day for a few months with a protruding disc in my back and the nurses were awesome! Still wore those little hats that look like a folded napkin. I loved my daily torture session being stretched on the rack followed by a horse-needle big shot of B12 right in teh arm.
its-a-clock 0
Sounds like not fun! Anyway, my problem here has been solved. Seems it was my fault and I'll admit it - I was going to the wrong kind of doctor. But having said that, their attitude wasn't the best first time. I'm a bit wary of doctors.
