merryJim 1
Well I was hoping to take a few days off this coming week, but with the lack of snow at the mo I've cancelled those plans. Which is annoying because I was really looking forward to that break and I can't change the days off work now.
Fattwins 0
No way Ill suffer through and hike above tsugaike any gamers for a hike eh DAVO. I leave xmas eve.

slow 0
I have just called the Hakuba pension for cancellation... We'll rebook later, I hope.
snobee 0
Cancelled (postponed???) to Dynaland/Takasu. Just too long a drive from Takamatsu and too much money for a "no guarantee".
Fattwins 0
No powder clinic then? too bad. If it snows like crazy will anyone re-book
merryJim 1
Nope, not this time - made other plans.
Fattwins 0
The problem is if we all cancel then next year some places might not be there. Im a bit worried about a few of the pensions on the fringe they might go under.
BagOfCrisps 24
I've cancelled my plan to get my hair cut on Tuesday. Instead, I will go to France for the snowboarding* with longer hair. (* there's snow in France )
Davo 1
I'll hike for sure FT. Just got back from another run so I'm getting well in shape for that sort of caper. I'd like more snow but the thought of cancelling has never crossed my mind. I'll be happy to catch up with friends and get up into the mountains. Anyway there are little snowmen on the forecasts for Hakuba resorts for the next 4 days . I hope that "ye of little faith" are proven wrong.
merryJim 1
I really hope it snows as well. I also won't regret cancelling though even if it does. Have a good time.
connackers 0
Had to cancel my trip to Hakuba as the skibusses aren`t running. Been frantically phoning around all weekend and with a bit of luck might be able to get up to Niseko instead. So should work out for the best. It`s pretty harsh for the ski industry in Honshu, they must be losing a fortune.
Fattwins 0
The fortune will be lost if they cant open around shogatsu
miteyak 0
Looks like Monday/Tuesday should see the start of the season with heavy snow likely in Hakuba. I:ll probably drop in on the way to Hokkaido... if it:s good enough I'll stay...
sunrise 0
nah, we haven't cancelled the powder clinic, it's just the pension has merely been postponed rather than actually cancelled, right slow?
mattlucas 0
I've got no plans to cancel Was just going to follow the snow so maybe that plan is cancelled. I might be up for a hike there Fattwins. Do you think there is enough snow to skin or will it be hiking?
Fattwins 0
I didnt even wear a jacket this morning and it will climb to about 20 kyoto today that is wierd. Toque considering the top of tsugaike is open I figure that there is enough snow to skin. Wont know untill saturday though. Ill teach some lesson through the weekend I think. Hakuba needs more than one dump it needs base snow.
mattlucas 0
Supposed to snow all day tomorrow We will see though. I have to change my name. Toque trying to keep positive Lucas Is it natural snow at the top?
sunrise 0
It's warm because we're catching the the tail end of yet another typhoon passing thru way off to the east. [sigh]. I guess it'll be gone tomorrow and then it can snow.
NoFakie 45
It's only part natural at Tsugaike. It looks better than 47 but thats about it. Apparently there's far more free parking at Tsugaike now. For the hikers, the Shizen-en is 250m or so above the ski field but doesn't have that much snow. Hopefully we'll get some tonight. Even if we don't, at least the mercury is set to drop. When we've had precipitation, it's been falling as rain. http://www.tokyu-hakuba.co.jp/live/live.htm
Fattwins 0
I figured a couple of pockets in between norikura ski jo and tsugaike (up and out the back of both) might have some nice drifted areas. Was thinking about heading there. the other place at tsugaike gets tracked out too fast by every wanna be guide. Freaking very warm now
tsondaboy 0
Not yet but I will have to unless it snows until new years day. I have booked a hotel at Happo from 1/2 to 1/4. I keep my fingers crossed!
slow 0
If we don't have enough snow in Hakuba, I need another option, Onsen! I'm looking for a hotel with nice Rotenburo now.
