SnowJapan Admin SnowJapan#Andrew 6 Posted October 20, 2006 SnowJapan Admin Share Posted October 20, 2006 Welcome to Snow Japan 06/07! This season sees by far the biggest update to the Snow Japan website ever. A few completely new sections, a completely revamped section, more daily reports, RSS feeds, mobile site. There's a lot of new stuff to play with. Site traffic for September 06 was 260% what it was in the same period last year, and with all of the new fun content we are expecting it to be an extremely busy season. Before we go into details, we'd just like to say a sincere thank you to the people who helped us out with ideas, suggestions and testing, particularly over the last 4 or 5 months. We really do appreciate it. Many of the new content ideas initially came from comments that were submitted by readers. We do not make decisions to go ahead with new content based on commercial reasons. Instead, we develop content purely based on what we think Snow Japan readers want to see. So if you have ideas on what you would like to see on Snow Japan in future, lets us know... it might end up being what we do next year. Anyway. Below are the main updates that have been made to Snow Japan and new content. SerreChe 2
The additions for this new season are simply mind-boggling. Incredible stuff really . I can tell a few sleepless nights have gone into it. To be honest, there are so many additions, it is gonna take me a while to get around them. What else can we ask for next season? It's gonna be hard to beat !

Peter North 0
Love the updates. The maps are really useful. I'm really learning a lot about where all these resorts are actually located now -- until now they were only names. Thank you.
damian 0
Using the new map section I was able to find out where Niseko is, at long last.
Markie 0
You should have just asked, db, I could have told you. It's a famous ski resort located in Australia. I hear some Japanese tourists also visit there occasionally to look for strawberries in the field but end up only finding powder and get disappointed and leave.
muikabochi 208
Hey SJ people - you still working overtime overtime? When's the main index page going to be changed?
SnowJapan Moderator SnowJapan.Com#4 5 Posted October 24, 2006 SnowJapan Moderator Share Posted October 24, 2006 Overtime overtime, yes Index page is being worked on and will go online as soon as it is tested and ready - which will probably be around the weekend. These index pages are really complex things.
Error404 0
Haven't been around for a while but came back to all this. Great stuff SJ people looks like a lot of time wasting fun to be had/
SnowJapan Admin SnowJapan#Andrew 6 Posted October 25, 2006 Author SnowJapan Admin Share Posted October 25, 2006 We've had tons of mails come in since we put all the new things online. Thanks for all the comments. The new things seem to have gone down really well. It is always good to hear what people think, especially when so much work has been put into it all by quite a number of people. Thanks again. There are still a lot of things to do. We've been going through the new content and doing some fine-tuning (and correcting some small mistakes as well). A few sections of the site are getting an overhaul and we are putting new links into pages where appropriate. The new main index page of the site ( this one ) should be online before the beginning of next week if all goes well. Then after that we are going to be updating the resort info for the new season. The 3 hourly weather forecast reporting will begin later next month.
SKI 15
Superb new content SJ. Well done. Looking forward to using it all.
SnowJapan Admin SnowJapan#Andrew 6 Posted November 1, 2006 Author SnowJapan Admin Share Posted November 1, 2006 The new index page of Snow Japan is now online. While realising that many Snow Japan readers may not use the page that much, it is still an important page of the site. Anyway, you can see it here: http://www.snowjapan.com/e/index.php
