muikabochi 208
I really like the resorts in Nagano - Nozzers, Shiga, Hakuba. The scale is generally bigger than whats round here. But I live here, so points to Niigata!
SpaceAgeMonkey 0
Well I have been to both this season and for me Happo and Hakuba easily wins as a resort and the courses on offer (this is not a backcountry evaluation). Had good days at both though.
skidaisuki 0
Kagura is not that great for boarders, judging from my friends' experience there when in a mixed group - quite a few flatter spots there. Happo has a lot more challening runs than Kagura, but can get lift queues and gets damn icy up top at times. Accessibility from Tokyo and scenery are plus points for Kagura, but in terms of technical challenge for skiiers, Happo's the place
@tokyo 14
If you're talking just scenery I think Hakuba easy beats Kagura (given both are clear days).
YellowSnow 0
skidaisuki, 100% agree, the flats really kill especially when you are forced to take the gondola run back home. I wish they did something about it. Like groom it so it has some angle. That said Kagura has some great terrain, tree runs, huge moguls, when the lift is open great BC access. I want to start doing more park next year, but Kaguras isnt great...
sanjo 2
No it's not. And I would have to say the views in Hakuba are far more impressive generally than around Niigata - though they are still very nice in themselves. Hakuba is just a bigger looking scale.
