NutteyCubey 0
Getting back to the warming up. The worst thing about winter sports for me is all the fuss in getting there, getting the gear on and getting on that first lift. It's more than enough for a warm up all that lot. excuse me 0
Same for me, no silly warm ups straight for the lift.
connackers 0
We did maypole dancing and morris dancing at my primary school which was only 15-20 years ago. But then again we did also get hit with a basting stick. I think our school tried to model itself on Enid Blyton books.
@tokyo 14
I just love watching other people do their funky warm up routines while I go out and enjoy 30 minutes more fun than them.
gamera 0
Don't look at me, @tokyo, it's relly like an oyaji radio-taiso! LOL
flipside 0
Went surfing in Miyazaki a couple of years back and it was like raijio taiso on the beach but there was only the serene sound of the waves crashing on the beach. Very Zen.
Retired Morris Dancer 0
Not sure where all the worlds Morris Dancers are, SubZero but there's a thriving culture in the UK.
cheeseman 1
I like to warm up for exercise with a nice nibble of cheese, something like cheddar does the trick. During the exercies I am looking forward to that bigger chunk on finishing. Tanoshimi!
pjem 0
I'm curious about this Morris Dancing, never seen it. Any vids RMD?
Phantom Raspberry Blower 0
I eat a big breakfast as early as I can and then just use the first few runs to take it easy and warm up. No silly stretching for me.
joshnii 2
Seems to be quite a few over the world - US, Canada, Australia, NZ. http://www.morrisdancing.org/
Ocean11 0
Stretching and warmup is not thought to make any difference, in terms of performance or preventing injuries (according to those little daily headlines at the top right of Yahoo). Do you see beasts of prey limbering up before they run down that gazelle?
ShinyDiscoBall 2
Warming up is most definitely rubbish. I should perhaps do it but it's just too tempting to go straight out there. I know a guy who seems to spend about 20 minutes doing his stretching routing. I think he just looks a dork.
