Password and important info remembering software

Recommended Posts

Actually not too long ago I downloaded 1password on my macbook.

I think it's brilliant.

I'm just terrible at organising things and something like this is really good for me.

Still getting used to the mac but I like it, a lot.

Yappari.

I use the norton password keeper which is very good and requires a password to log in to it before you can access any logins.

But I of course keep a written back up in my little book just in case and change all the passwords to email and any important sites on a regular basis.

I generally use the first letters of the words in a sentence and some number.

Maybe something like What Is The Height Of Mt Yotei 1898 will be withomy1898

I'm good with remembering heights of mountains.

The old `first letter of words in a sentence' is classic and probably still the best system unless you have a photographic memory to handle randomly generated sequences of 12 or more letters & numbers. I like the mountain heights twist, GN. That's slick.

Several permutations of employee numbers from previous occupations, with the odd letter chucked in for good measure.

No need for software to remember passwords - I have cuddleware to do that! (aka a brain)
