muikabochi 208
Turns out that the same company that recently bought Muikamachi Ski Resort (and owns Yuzawa Nakazato) has also just bought Centleisure Maiko here in Minamiuonuma. That wasn't expected. Well, not by me anyway! I suppose that with the name of the resort being the name of the company, Maiko will be getting another name change sooner than later. Perhaps they will wait until the end of the season as it's a right old dinger of a time to be changing ski resort names..... Let's Maiko!

NoFakie 45
As the new name, I suggest "Cent Trinian's" I've got some ideas for the new uniforms too!
Russell's paradox 0
Ah, it's a company name is it? Was wondering about that.........
muikabochi 208
Yes I think it is. Never liked that name. I hope they go back to Maiko Kogen. Like Kandatsu Kogen did once "Pine Ridge Resorts" ran away at full speed.
SKI 15
Wasn't it Maiko Korakuen?

Slippery Jim 65
Au contraire, we had really really nice wheels. They just didn't work very well until the corners wore smooth.

SnowJapan Admin SnowJapan#Andrew 6 Posted December 12, 2011 SnowJapan Admin Share Posted December 12, 2011 I was at the Minamiuonuma tourist office earlier today -- picking up 30 lift ticket vouchers -- and asked them about this. It's too late to change the name for this season of course, but we can probably expect the 'Centleisure' to be dropped once the upcoming season is done. I hope they might be encouraged to open up that other lift that has just been standing there doing nothing for 10+ years. Never got on that one.

muikabochi 208
Yes it is. Now that really is a trek, close to 15 minute drive! I like Hakkai-san too. Maiko and Hakkai are the best in the town I reckon. Never really taken to Ishiuchi Maruyama.

muikabochi 208
Me too I wish I liked sake. I'm just not good with strong alcohol like that. The beer is great though.
