muikabochi 208
Why can't Japan do grass? Is it the humid thing? Or... is there much grass up in Hokkaido?
Tubby Beaver 209
I think if the humidity would be a benefit to grass....all that moisture for them to soak up and turn really green
Thundercat 60
I have a grassy backyard. It grows fine but the variety is not as nice as what we have back home. It's looking pretty bad right now but it's the middle of winter so not so concerned!
pie-eater 207
Nice. I like well-kept thick green grass.
NoFakie 45
We've got a lawn next to the house. It's covered in snow at the moment. Its still getting established, but when fed, it goes the same colour as the photo, if not slightly darker. By the sound of things, regular rain is good, but warm humidity is not. Perfect conditions for disease.
muikabochi 208
There's a poor excuse of grass behind where I live. Very poor though more like a few blades amongst the dirt and dust.
SKI 15
ETC Timing > grass! Going to plan a few longer weekday trips myself when this kicks in, places I have not been going to until now because it was just too takai.
muikabochi 208
OK before I get to work. I just HATE it when I pay for using the expressway and there are long stretches that are one lane only. Like the bit between Niigata Airport going north. Last night I was behind this dude who can't have been going more than 40kmh and just no way to overtake for 12km+. Pulling hair out. Discount please! muikabochi 208
And another one. Why on earth is the speed limit 50kmh on parts of the Kanetsu Expressway between Muikamachi and Nagaoka. No snow, no wind, no congestion, two lanes. It's nuts.
grungy-gonads 54
Double 50kmh?! On an expressway?!
joshnii 2
The 50 limit really is crazy. Actually I think that the stretch to the north of Niigata is free at the moment muika, so no further discount possible there.
Tubby Beaver 209
Isn't the speed limit on the Kan-etsu from Tokyo something ridiculous like 60 miles an hour? My granny's electric wheelchair goes faster than that!!
muikabochi 208
I don't know about the Tokyo area. Is it congested round there usually? This 50kmh area is totally congestion free and no reason whatsoever I can think of why it would be so mad low. I can understand in a blizzard but it's always like that. klingon 10
Is this still going ahead then?
muikabochi 208
From what I can understand, it is staying as it is up until now, so the new 2000 yen thingie has been postponed. Someone correct me if I'm wrong!
mina2 6
Seems to be the case.
Thundercat 60
Thought I'd put this out there to anyone who might know if there has been a recent change in the ETC system. I know the weekend 1000Y thing is gone but has it been replaced by a 1500Y deal? It seemed I was charged a flat rate of 1500Y and each of the three cars in front of me had the same amount. Is it back to a flat rate it was it just some kind of weird coincidence? I thought that the weekend flat rate deals had been scrapped completely but maybe I'm wrong.
Metabo Oyaji 71
No flat rate now that I know of. Coincidence?
pie-eater 207
I don't know what the situation is now, but asking my friends today, nor does anyone. I think the whole situation is just way too complex and doubt many people know. I thought weekends were 50% and there were some times that were 30% off...........
muikabochi 208
I thought it was 50% on holidays as well. It was when we came back from Niigata over New Year anyway.
