SnowJapan Admin SnowJapan 178 Posted August 25, 2010 SnowJapan Admin Share Posted August 25, 2010 Come on folks please, enough of that. Perhaps either post on topic in this thread, or just go to another thread! If anyone crosses any lines or whatever, we'll deal with it. And if you want to ignore any other member, you can actually do that in the Preferences section of your account. Back to the subject, we are working on revamping our Travel section to be much more in-depth than it is now so hopefully in a few months we will be getting that up online. Thanks. In the long scheme of things, especially when people are coming from 12 hour flights from overseas, it's not like 20 mins saves THAT much time. But, on some occasions, that could help you get the last connection to whatever destination you are going, so in that situation thats pretty useful. Itd be nicer if the buses from Shin Chitose to Niseko werent 2.5 plus hours. Quite a long smoke break at that automatic piano million dollar bathroom too. Think they couldnt put in a bullet train and make it, say, 45 mins?

nagoid 4
Isn't a Hokkaido shink planned - extended from the Tohoku to Sapporo? How close to Niseko would that get?

I could see it being less than 2 hours from there with the main stops prolly being Hakodate, Kutchan, then Sapporo. There isnt much around the way between Hakodate and Sapporo - quite beautiful Inaka.

RobBright 35
Nearest stop would be Kutchan.
Tubby Beaver 209
that would be sweet!!
HelperElfMissy 42
Easy enough to get accommodation to do shuttles from Kutchan instead of the welcome centre...or have a big bus do shuttles Kutchan to the Welcome Centre. Not like Kutchan is a long drive from Hirafu. Great initiative.

SantaCruz 0
Hasn't there been a SkyLiner service for a while? I'm sure I'm missing something here. Does this new one have fewer stops between Narita and Ueno?
RobBright 35
Has been indeed, all they have done is upped the speed and added a new train.

They have actually built a new line. It is a whole new service. The old line that was called Skyliner will now be called cityliner.
pie-eater 207
Certainly seemed a different route whizzing through there.
SantaCruz 0
Thanks for the heads up TJ. That's confusing that they gave the new on the old name, but oh wells
