Thundercat 60
Japan looks slightly less crappy though
Metabo Oyaji 71
Neither side can seem to hold onto the ball long enough to do anything with it. At least it is not static. But enough with the "Shout" already. Seems singularly inappropriate as a cheerleading song.

bobby12 0
Yep they are are looking good for a 1-0 win here. 0-0 at half time but paraguay starting to get raggedy.

pie-eater 207
Can't we just fast forward to the penalties that they both so obviously have been playing for from the beginning.
pie-eater 207
Tell you what. After watching dire game after even more dire game in this World Cup - can't believe how poor the general quality has been - I have realised just how good the Premier League is. That is a good thing, because we have that week in week out from mid August into May. I will be sure to remember to appreciate it.
grungy-gonads 54
Spain through. Wonder when Japan tv will be safe to watch. I guess today is full of "proud to be Japanese", "they really did gambaru", delivered with semi-serious but very sincere face style bollocks. Along with images from all of Japan of people watching tv.
ShinyDiscoBall 2
Paraguay vs Japan was a truly dreadful game. I wonder if Japan will regret not actually trying to win it. Didn't see the Spain vs Portugal game. Any good?
grungy-gonads 54
On a more positive note, it is actually admirable how they stick to it and punch above their weight - unlike some other teams we could mention. So.... well done for that!
pie-eater 207
Yes surely got to give them that. It does make for a frustrating game to watch of course. But they sure don't give up.
big-will 7
Simply, the fear of losing was more than the desire to win the game.

scouser 4
Taped it so I could see the end penalties. Sounds like the rest of the game was pretty poor too. Shame Japan didn't come out like they did for the Denmark game.
bobby12 0
Nakata called it before the game - both teams like to play counter attack so it will be interesting to see how it turns out. (He was wrong about the "interesting" part though.)
thursday 1
Nakata used to be a good player. Sometimes exciting too. Didn't he go off to Italy or something.
thursday 1
Damn. I'm getting withdrawal urges for the world cup. Even for crap games. DAMN!!
big-will 7
Had to laugh at the NHK news tonight. Apparently, it was a wonderful game last night. Don't know which one they were watching! Obasans were interviewed. Everyone was happy and proud. Got to laugh!
