HelperElfMissy 42
Took the snow clearing guys all day to get the front of the building we are staying in clear today. We went out and they had to stop for us and we had to climb over the mound in front of the door - and when we called it a night they were still just finishing off. And now it is snowing
thursday 1
also crazy when you see trucks going 10s of kms down the road just to dump it.
Mantas 3
We have lots of machinery to PRODUCE snow over here. I doubt we have many to REMOVE it.

muikabochi 208
I believe you! I'm sure it used to be more consistently like that here too, and locals say the same.
ILoveZao 8
It is less reliable here as well these recent years. How about in Hokkaido, is there a trend of less snow/less storms or is it keeping up?
Go Native 70
The last 4 years have mostly had less snow than normal in most parts. Last season though was strange, many areas were less than normal but some areas like in the NW had all time record snowfalls. Areas around Niseko showed big variations last season over relatively small distances. Kutchan for instance was a little below average but Suttsu on the cost not far away had well above average. Antidisestablishmentarianist 0
They do a brilliant job of keeping places open. 1m of snow overnight? No problem! Schools open as normal. Don't be late now!
uk skier 0
Love those photos! Looks like snow in amounts I have never seen at any town level.
