Larry King has really got worse as he gets older.

That was just one big lick piece.

I recommend everyone to avoid CNN/BBC etc the next day to avoid all the mawkishness that is going to go on.

I am SOOO over the MJ thing!

Whatever happened to Farrah Fawcett? Why did she have to pick the same week as MJ to go? Just a couple of weeks later and she'd be getting the same sort of coverage as MJ.

Without a doubt.

As much as I do not care and actually dislike MJ and his music, it seems there are billions of berks out there who adore him and what he stood for (!) ( veryshocked )

Magic Johnson, the legendary basketball player who became fast friends with Michael's older brother Jackie, said, in all earnestness: "I truly believe Michael made me a better point guard and basketball player."

scruffy bob started it all off, though that sadly kind of spoils the 'magical story' being told today.

:(

Sad to see little Paris and her heartache at losing her Dad.

hmmm... I know the allegations, and they are so very very likely to be true, but it doesnt take away from the fact that 3 little kiddies have lost thier father and only present parent.

That's gotta be hard.

The pomp and pagentry and excesses of his 'farewell' is shocking to me - about the same OTT coverage as the Obama Inauguration. Scary.

But lost in there are 3 kids - scared for the future.

RIP Jacko. Shamone!

This was done years ago, but still cracks me up. It may bite, but it's still his music and his moves. As for parents who let their kids play unsupervised with adult strangers, especially pop stars with a reputation, well words fail really.

I'm not so sure.

He was either a serial child molester or a very vulnerable weirdo. It depends on who you want to believe. A lot of his accusers had history of crime or they were litigation specialists.

No it's not. That's what I call weird.

Whether he actually molested them or not comes down to one persons word against another. I doubt anyone will ever know for sure. I get the impression that the Jury acquitted him based on the lack of evidence and the previous dodgey form of the accusers. The fact that he quickly handed over $20000000 to the first accuser opened the door for any of the other kids (parents) that had ever had a 'sleep over' at Neverland.

glad I'm not an LA taxpayer

The memorial service for singer Michael Jackson cost the city of Los Angeles $1.4 million, the mayor's office said. Costs included putting extra police on the streets, trash pickup, sanitation, traffic control and more for the Tuesday event, a spokeswoman said. The city, which is $530 million in debt, set up a Web page seeking donations to help with the expenses.

Well you know... there are artists and genius and blah blah..

What ever they are it doesn't mean they are good (socially acceptable) because they can do something well. But they get tolerated.

Prime example, Aussie cricket and football players.

John Lennon was an asshole according to his son.

Isn't it enough for the public just to have his music ?

But ... did he go before his time? OR was it his time to go!

Obviously, I believe the latter, and all the carry on is just that, palaver and carry-on.

Now, can we just get on with our lives and forget him? Please?
