mailboi 0
OK I have 5 days off during late January. Wondering where to spend it. Here's what I want: - lots of choice of runs (resorts?); - good snow; - lively place in the evenings; - not too much travel hassle; - not too busy; - not too expensive. I've narrowed it down to either the Hakuba area or Niseko. If you were me, and taking into account the above, which would you choose.
HotMagma 0
If you want the choice and different resorts every day - Hakuba.
Bowler 0
go to both man!!!
IM 0
For 5 days, you pretty much have to spend a day to get there and another to get back especially if you are to buy a package deal on both locations. Both places do offer good set of runs with good snow, and about equally expensive. I think there are two things those places are distinctively different. Niseko would be busier than Hakuba and Hakuba night life is pretty much dead (assuming you meant Niseko as Hirafu).
fukdane 2
For 5 days? I'd be chosing Hakuba.
gurningbob 0
Niseko takes the longer to get to, so if you only have 5 days....
slimeypete 0
Hakuba. Now if that were 7 days...
rachael 0
Both would be best, but Hakuba will be the least hassle and most choice for you for 5 days.
bong 0
Whichever you choose, it should be good
klingon 10
Hakuba will win on the choice element with all those resorts there. Niseko is pretty much just that resort - even though some people think it's quite a decent place
Fattwins 0
do you want to ride every day? If you do Hakuba or near hakuba.. myoko, Arai nozawa are good options. If you want cold weather light snow and 3.5 days of riding go to niseko. I think most places will have good conditions by then.
snowflake 0
I choose Hakuba, I love it.
indosnm 0
But remember the 3.5 days of riding if you go to Niseko are days from 8:30am - 9pm. and Hirafu is 90% open, where as in my exp. hakuba night courses have pretty limited runs.
cheeseman 1
I would go to Hakuba. As well as the choice of slopes and everything, there is a better supply of cheese there.
