Tubby Beaver 209
how stupid is it that Wales and Scotland get to play 2 games at their home stadium!! The Scottish coach has already said he'd preferred to have stayed in France where there is an atmosphere about the venues, luckily we won easily against Romania, reckon the next game will be a slight tad tougher

Tubby Beaver 209
we squeezed through by kicking pens. Better than nothing I guess, mon the Scots!! @ Wales
Mantas 3
Not good news for Australia. Injuries mounting. Steve Larkham, ague-ably the best fly half in the world, is also unlikely to play in the quarter final against England. This from the herald Sun Lyons trudged off early in the second half and was taken to the changing rooms in a wheelchair having sustained an injury to his left ankle, while Sharpe hyper extended an elbow. Any excuses about injuries in the English camp will fall on deaf ears.
AK 77 0
It's a total truism, but world cup rugby in the knock out stages is about being good enough on the day, doesn't matter who is the best team in the world really (ie the All Blacks at the last 2 world cups). Australia definately have the edge on England in this - England are always a 5 minute bad spell away from seizing up mentally for the rest of the game... Australia seem better at making the most of what they've got and trying to win with it. I think it will be close-ish, but with Australia by about 10 points at the end. I don't think the winner of this match will win the whole thing though...

AK 77 0
Thursday - are you a kiwi? If not, what is the fun in picking the outright overwhelming favourites to support? Why not an interesting underdog, like Argentina, who's progress will actually have a positive affect on world rugby? Or are they 'your team' as you put some money on them? Just curious. thursday 1
when I played schoolboy Rugby, our pack was modelled on Graham Mourie's. And being a flanker, he was the player to wanabe. Many many years ago.

thursday 1
Footy is football. I just hate it when the yanks call it soccer. It aint soccer, it's football. yank football aint football at all, it's yank rugby.
Mantas 3
We call it soccer too.' Footy' is either Rugby League or AFL.
soubriquet 0
News dot com has embraced the reality of the world game. Football is football. It is played with the feet. Rugby, Gridiron and Aussie rules are handball. To call them football is a travesty.
bushpig 0
What?! The main method of delivery in Aussie rules is kicking. Hand-passes are there too, but not the primary method.
Mantas 3
Right or wrong. 'Footy' seems to be the name given to the number 1 sport in your country or region by the masses. Whether you use you hands, feet, head, dick or whatever to move the ball. Rugby never seems to get called footy. Down here anyway.
