yeah, don't stress. Why is someone talking about a seemingly high salary any different to hearing about sports players and their ridiculous salaries on tv every day? If people get pissed, that's their problem.

On topic, I think the gaijin man-whore industry is vastly underdeveloped. Perhaps you could dable a bit to see if there is enough demand for you to then step in with your business skills and become a pimp...

sorry if I upset you, sirjib... but you did say SERIUOUSLY in your title, which would quite drastically counter the JOKE theme that is currently being persuaded.

Seriously... set up a webpage with a few domains in Japan and america... there are heaps of threads here that have people talking about what they miss from back home, etc...

To me... there's just no question what kind of business to start up.

Oh... you guys were joking... right... ummm... how about a male host bar?

Seafood farming - as opposed to FISH farming.

Choose an exotic product that the Japanese will obviously like, say for example, Yabbies (small fresh water crayfish) - or their larger cousins Marron.

Sell them to boutique restaurants to begin with, then mass market, and importantly - value add e.g. smoked, bottled in herbs, etc.

Due to their nature, they would grow better in the warmer parts of J-Land ... or in a heated environment perhaps.

That's my 2c worth ... I claim 5% of your income for consultancy fees too!!

About the mail host bar thing, seriously now.

Even if you make it to be one, the circle is such that you will have to spend every last penny you get just to keep yourself in. Plus it doesn’t fit to your character, you are too nice guy to do that kind of job.

On the other hand, if you are “gifted”, I can always pull some strings and get you into the adult entertainment industry. \:D

Like I said, importing shellfish and then re-exporting them as a Japanese item is so prevalent that it is an accepted practice.

Many, many Japanese businessmen in HK do this. It marks up this here product 20 fold.

Yes, do that!

actually pie-eater, I was thinking along those lines just recently. I was walking thru the train station and they ahve all the bakeries selling various patries and most of them tend to be savoury as opposed to sweet. I was thinking that if you sold Scotch pies, sauage rolls, steak and gravy pies etc etc that we get back home, I reckon that the J-public would go for it. They'd definitely eat them, we'd just have to keep a secret the exact ingredients of said imported pies!!! sick.gif

Yes saying such a thing, IN CAPITALS no less, does rather hint at seriousness!!

I certainly wasn't getting "pissed". SirJib obviously wasn't doing so, but it is a valid point that people generally don't like big-heads and/or talking about salary is often a sensitive issue. That's all.

I'll go back to being silly now.

I was joking in the chat box about making $30M, the thread was supposed to be serious, but at this point, the comedy is refreshing.

Options so far:

1) Man-Whore

2) Pimp

3) Porn star

4) Prawn-star (farming)

5) Importer/exporter

6) Homesick products

I think i'll tackle them in this order....

and by the way, if I use any of the ideas from this forum and make my $300M, I'll be sure to throw one hell of a party in hakuba and Niseko!

No more talk of salaries...fictional or otherwise. It doesn't bother me, even if mine is $0.00 lol.gif but I know some are sensitive - best to leave it alone.

I've got a few ideas of my own and am going to start on the business plan and run the numbers. Feel free to keep the ideas coming - not only for me, but for all...

anyway, i'm off to "Hello Work"....lol.gif

I don't know if anyone got offended by talking about salary. I just thought it was pretty ludicrous for somebody to ask for advice finding work in a previous thread, then comment on "living off the interest of our savings", then asking for business ideas. shifty.gif

I just can't help but give a bit of lip to that character. I mean... come on... wakaranai.gif

but now, perhaps it was all just a joke. My sarcasm meter is in kaputs. \:\(

Nope, i'm not independently wealthy...never made 30M a year....and could live off my interest if I slept under a park bench in Yoyogi, but then again, couldn't anyone?

Sorry Samurai for the confusion - too many threads, too many topics, too much sarcasm.

To clarify:

- Don't need any help finding work - that was sarcasm

- Would like to hear other's biz ideas - makes for good banter

that's all...
