  1. So does anyone know what this is all about then? http://niseko-village.com/pdf/niseko-village-trail-EN.pdf
  2. yeah i emailed those guys, have not heard anything back yet. well except for them adding me on facebook
  3. if you are looking for helmets i would recommend sorting it out BEFORE you get there....we tried to get one in Niseko and Kutchan and could not find any (well ones that fitted anyway) the popular models and sizes had mostly sold out by mid jan.
  4. hi all, been 2 years since i was on here! just a quick question...could anyone recommend a good/cheap(ish) place to stay a few nights in Yamagata Zao Onsen? we are heading up to Hokkaido from Tokyo via train on the 1st or 2nd of jan and want to stop over/detour to zao along the way for a few days. any info would be greatly appreciated on things to see, eat, visit, or jump off.
  5. i have been in niseko since monday and even with these supposed crowds, the longest time ive waited at a lift is the time it took me to unstrap my rear binding. just depends on where you go!
  6. hey nino did you end up getting your gear ok? hey we will be in niseko same time as you.... maybe we should hit the trails one day!

  8. you should try getting on the live help chat window on dogfunk and see if they will do a deal before buying anything, they might let you mix and match the jackets! we did that and they gave us 15% off everything we bought...even brand new season stuff. it's a really easy process and it's 24hr i think. you wont go wrong with a goretex pant, perticularly if you do time in oz too...rain and all! nice choice!

The waist width of the DH is also going to be wider, compared to an unincm, which will feel different when you ride it. i have found no difference in the 156 uninc to the 158. i have the 05 model 156 and so does my buddy (158) i snapped mine thi
  11. nice setup! i have a ronin 2l for those heavy rainy days in oz...really good jacket at 20k!
  12. yeah dogfunk has issues with sending some of the brands from usa to australia. it's a contractual issue with some of the companies...total balls!!! what we did was get stuff sent to friends in the usa (free US shipping with DF) then they sent it out, if you cant do that check out gear by volcom or 686 on dogfunk, they have mega sale gear on there for cheap. these are two brands that make awesome snowboarding gear highly tech fabrics and functionality! plus they are not on the Banned list of brands they can send. i just got a 2007 volcom down jacket for $155 US (rrp $690aud) you save hea
  13. realistically i always thought the shell was the way to go and layer up, but when we last went to japan i bought a down jacket and that was the ducks nuts! a t-shirt underneath at minus 15 was all i needed and it was awesome...great for your movement, and not overly hot..plus with good venting you can dump the heat on the lifts
  14. go backcountry.com or dogfunk.com we got loads of top gear off dogfunk at super low prices...you cant go wrong!
  15. yeah try the burton forum...there is a wealth of knowledge on there...a lot of smart arse posters too though so make sure you ask the right kind of questions, Like any forum i guess! i'd have to agree with kumapix, the ride dh is a sick board, very nice choice for something soft but not too soft. the carbon torsion rods stiffen it up when needed but are placed so that if your doing park, boxes etc its still soft too press, butter etc. i rode the 2008 153 danny kass gnu with magnetraction...now thats a soft board...but very fun i have to say...rode reasonably well at speed too!
  16. this is a mad idea...some pretty crappy stickers can be found around the place "i drink milk and i vote" etc etc i'd like to see some pics posted of the best assasinations!
  17. can you have a decent trip to kyoto in one day from tokyo? we were thinking of taking the bullet train down and back. or should we do a 1 night stayover?
  18. yeah thats a great idea, but would they have models based on english? i'd hate to get there and not find anything. we have agroup of 8 and this idea of radios was kind of integral to our getting in touch with each other around the hill/village, really need something and i dont want to use mobiles..too $$$$ high

Dont use them around patrollers as they will get pissed. You will pick up patrol radios and just about every other person on the mountain. I guess you can see a pattern that im not a radio fan on the Mountain. so how do you communicate on the mountain? i dont WANT to interf
  20. about $60 USD a pair with desktop chargers and headsets etc...it's just through ebay though, nothing special. it would cost around $30uSD for the shipping to OZ.
  21. i've been posting some questions about using/buying 2 way radios over on the oz ski.com forum, just wondering what gear you guys use for coms on the mountains in japan and what exactly is legal for use. ive been looking at getting some 2 ways from the USA the midland gxt650 which operates on 22 channels on freq 462.5625 to 462.7250. would this cause any prob in japan?
