  1. Fujiwara Norika commenting on sports. Such a moron!
  2. As I was coming home from Happo last sat the wife called and said that we're out of kerosene, so pick up a jerry can full at home(her family home). Alright, no prob. I stopped in and got it, tightened the top tight and put it the back of my car. Drove off but at the first turn, I heard a loud THUNK! and I knew it had tipped over. I pulled over to check it out and to my horror I found the stupid thing leaking kerosene all over my board bag. DOH!I raced home and promptly gave my board a shower, then washed the bag in vain 3 times. I threw it out on the balcony (I'll have to check it tonight, to
  3. I went once 2 years ago, got caught on the 2nd run ducking a rope and then had a really boring day. I didn't find the runs exciting at all - very wide & featureless. The snow was also crap so even ducking ropes was a waste of time
  4. Do you guys carry digital cameras with you on the mountain? I used to do it with disposable cams but I haven't done it recently. I want to take my new dslr but the trouble is you can't really ride all out with 10man plus of equipment on your back
  5. Toque is definitely better than beanie. When I hear beanie I think of one of those hats with a little propellor on it (like nobita wears to fly around in on Doraemon). Keep the TOQUE!
  6. I just watched a Todd Richards video on jumps that was pretty helpful. but just get yourself a pro video and see what the pros are doing to get stoked, then go to the mountain and snowboard like you skate ie power slides to stop and half power slides to turn.
  7. It really depends on where you're riding, and if it snows. You might find yourself saving and buying the longer board only to find that you don't use it when you come here. They say that if you use a shorter board in pow it makes you better since you have to work more. That's why I ride a 162 for park and a 142 for pow.....lol. j/k You could always just set back your bindings on your 162 if there's a pow day. That's easier than lugging an extra board around. It's really up to you and how you ride. Unless where you normally ride they recommend boards 10cm shorter than normal then I would
  8. You guys should really check out the Burton.com forum (go to community to find it). You would have more chance of getting feedback on the freestyles from someone who has them. The people on that forum aren't that pro-burton either.
  9. Saturday it's a customer appreciation day at Gokurakuzaka & Raicho Valley here in Toyama and you can ride for free, so I will go there. Sunday, it's off to Happo for some good freeriding. My last warmup before heading to Whistler next Wed for 10 days. It will also be the hatsu suberi for my wife, so she's gotta test out her new board & boots.
  10. I wanted to go too... but I'll be in Whistler for Christmas...darn!
  11. I found a cool one for my bro last year at a cheap clothes shop called Jack ( I think). It had the seal of the united states and had 'United Stats Senate'. My bro cracked up when he saw it. (He was studying Stats at school at the time). It was bright yellow too. It was only 1000 yen. he he he, cheap present
  12. we call them goggle babies. You talk to them on the lift and then do a couple of runs with them. Then when you stop for lunch or a break comes the moment of reckoning! Ha ha ha. That's when you abruptly get up and mumble something about going to the bathroom and run!
  13. That's the best you can do two heabs. Just try all the boots you can and choose the ones that feel the best.
  14. depends how hot she is I'd rather have a raccoon hottie than a pastie-face moose
  15. The driver x's will last you for a long time. They are super stiff. Plus they come with RAF tongue inserts to make them stiffer. I used a pair of drivers for 4 seasons (about 220 days). I just got ions this year. Damn I love the speed zone lacing system. It is so quick and it's just as good as regular lacing. Burton has a really good warranty system too so you get your stuff replaced real fast. As for the burton freestyles, I'm not sure of the price but I've heard the rulers for 3man and change are really good. Plus they have the speed zone.
  16. Last year i went cheap. I just rode at my local resort for free so it was only the gas money. Oh wait I bought a seven snowbard 6man. this year: boots x2 pairs (for the missus)6man5000 board for the missus 3man 2000 next up goggles, another man or 2 and then the lift tix, gas money, tolls,...no more thinking about this! as long i have a little left in the bank account I'm fine. I live my life for snowboarding so why hold back?
  17. This year's Future Proof is hands down the best vid this year imo. Just incredible. Nicolas Muller and DCP rip up some tree runs in Hokkaido that will blow you away. Paradox is terrible, stay away! Editing by numbers, and the last guy has the worst style ever. From,....with love: is pretty good. 2 videos in one -> you can watch it by rider parts or by locations. very nice True Love: cool hip hop soundtrack mixed by MFM. Good flic. TTT #1: this is my favourite video this year. A scandinavian vid with an amazing soundtrack. Really, really good editing. I can't think of any more rig
  18. Some of my shogakkusei have had awesome shirts. 'Lesbians are great lovers' or how about just simply, 'COCK' in huge letters Last week one girl had a motley crue tshirt on! I know she didn't have a clue though. It was the Too fast for love album cover...
  19. Billabong has some bright green jackets if you need outerwear. Analog has 'red dawn' coloured outerwear
  20. I'm hooked on Lost, Invasion, Prison break and Rome (now finished). Prison break is the bomb!
  21. I've got a huge Doraemon sticker on my Burton Frontier so, surprise!, it's called the Doraemon. It's easier than explaining that it's a Frontier. Other board is a Seven, and it doesn't need another name. Unfortunately, there's no real attachment to them. The Doraemon is old and beat up, and the Seven is just an ok board.
  22. what time is first lift at happo? 7:30? any recommended 1st runs?
