toque, the naxo are my only set up (at least in Japan). I used them for mostly resort skiing last season in whistler, this year i've been doing mostly backcountry. I havent had any problems yet, but i've also avoided attempting any 360s and such. i did chip a tiny piece of plastic off of the toe piece when i took a high speed fall last month (from banging it with the other ski, my leg got the worst of it though). i don't think it would've happened on the new ones since i think all the hollow parts have been filled in in on the toe. i have them mounted on a pair of 179 seth pistols and us -

I took the course with Chuck Olbery of Backcountry Powder Tracks. www.b-powdertracks.com I'm very happy I took the course, it was great practice and really solidified my understanding of snowpack and route selection. I had read Bruce Tremper's 'Staying Alive in Avalanche Terrain' and the course helped to clarify a ton of stuff. -

i went to kagura, did a recreational avy class, hiked up on saturday in the beautiful sunshine, snow was soft and sticky but it was a great day to be out on the mountain, yesterday was wet and visibility was crap. we didn't hike just found some slopes to dig pits and do rescue scenarios. -

the legal guardianship, means that he can decide to have the tube removed, the parents have been challenging his guardianship repeatedly in order to prevent that. the courts have reapeatedly ruled that they have no reason to remove him as guardian. they have ruled that there is enough evidence to believe that would be her wish as well. the parents have stated in court that they would keep her alive regardless of her wishes and at all cost.

i'd love to give the parents a say, but in this case you can't compromise. he was and is her legal guardian (something her parents agreed to after the accident)

I still think that he has lost the right to have any say over whether she lives or dies mate bc hes with another women and has 2 kids that's ludicrous, he made the decision well before he started living with another woman. furthermore he could've gotten a divorce at any time, yet did not so that he could (remain guardian) and fulfill what he believes were her wishes. here's a quote from a court ordered report on the case: "By 1994, Michael's attitude and perspective about Theresa's condition changed. During the previous four years, he had insistently held to the premise that T

bullshit, he made the decision more than 11 years ago and the only reason this has gone on is because of litigation by her parents and intervention by the the governor, and now possibly congress. *edit* 11 years not 13, sorry.

don't know when they got the call, but 6pm is pretty late and it would be too dark to attempt an airlift by the time they got there. a friend of mine was in a mountaineering accident back in Canada and had to spend the night on the mountain because it was too late in the day. luckily he managed to stay conscious through the night and was picked up the next morning. -
the cheating husband please, she's been in a vegetative state for 15 years. come on. the fact that he's moved on with his life has absolutely no bearing. if you loved your partner would you want them to stop living just because your life for all intents and purpose has stopped. secondly, the courts agreed that his decision was in line with her wishes. i think i'm going to write my living will now. so the courts need not be involved and my death can't be made into a circus if such a fate should befall me.

i'm finally taking a class next week in Kagura. i can read all i want but there's nothing like hands on instruction. so what is the deal with mountain rescue in japan? are there areas that are known to be covered by fast response teams? does insurance come into play in the response time (as disturbing a thought as that may be)? -

crazy carpets. damn now that would be hilarious. it would definitely have to be filmed for posterity. a three person wooden toboggan would also be quite nice, though in my experience the bruises are much worse. in that case you would have to wear toques with pompoms, possibly drinking a molson or labatt product too. -

basically walk along the main road between shin-ochanomizu/ogawamachi stn and jimbocho stn all the shops are there. minami, mizuno, altus, victoria, alpen, ICI, some outlets, and a few smaller pro shops. there's also Saikaya but it's between jimbocho stn and JR suidobashi stn there's only a small shop on the main road the rest of it is split among a bunch of small locations in the streets behind it (shoes, outdoor, clothing, montbell stuff, etc) there's also a Victoria store across from new south exit on the east side of JR shinjuku stn but you'll have better luck with ski stuff at the K -
