  1. Nice work, guys! Looks like the conditions were a lot better this time (and way better then when I did it). You guys took the opposite route from the one we took. We went up from the South. I'm really glad you were able to try it again and get that tick mark. Tsonda, I'll be looking forward to hearing about your 2nd attempt in the future.
  2. Hey, did you guys try again? Here's my report from 2005 (picture host is gone, so no pictures).
  3. He's here: http://maps.google.ca/maps?ie=UTF-8&oe=u...snum=1&ct=image
  4. Nice work, I was just catching up on your blog yesterday. Looks a lot more fun than that last highway walk with the flu. I'm so itching to be in the mountains. One more exam and a paper... BTW what boots are those? I'm really serious about getting set up with dynafit gear if I can find a way to afford it.
  5. Sweet report, FT. I'm fairly convinced these would make a great ski for me to fill out the quiver into 110+ range, something to look at for next season. Ideally, I could throw some dynafits on the 188s and dukes on a pair of brockers, then quit school and actually use 'em. Oh well, two more weeks of exams and papers.
  6. Pictures are too good lately, needs a little more of this: Spring Skiing in Garibaldi
  7. Thanks, Diz. Get well soon. Janus, glad you got the powder vacation you were waiting for!
  8. hah, stuff like that over here would be shralped by the time you got to the parking lot
  9. Sorry to hear about your knee, Diz. Hope it's not as bad as FT's saying. The snow looks sick. Nice work once again, boys. FT, got any bigline pics?
  10. just a note, the pics you put up don't really show trees dense enough to prevent an avalanche. That said, the slope size, angle, exposure and terrain in general is easier to manage below treeline.
  11. you guys are having a killer season out there... my timing is atrocious. great shots.
  12. Very nice report, FT. Based on the pics on facebook, looks like a great outing. I also like that you included pit digging photos. I'm starting the 4 day CAA AST-2 course tomorrow with a few friends.
  13. this thread should be deleted, but i'm not supposed to comment on the way things are run here according to the new rules, so i'll refrain from making that suggestion. i also refrain from suggesting that people talk about avies in the avy and backcountry forum... so really i'm not saying anything. carry on.
  14. 22 days last year... should be able to beat that this year. Currently at 9. Pretty much guaranteed 5 days during winter break then I would only need 2 days a month til the end of season to reach 22. Hmmm, 30+ might finally be in the cards.
  15. Nice pics and lines, guys. Backcountry is pretty much out of the question around here right now. We have one of the worst snowpacks in years. 6+ inbounds avies in N.A. so far. Over 25 avy deaths in North America, 9 of them in Canada. A 3 metre deep slide ripped out of Blackcomb Glacier on Sunday while we were skiing Whistler. Patrol had dropped 2 bombs on the slope, then ~100 skiers went by before someone hit the sweet spot. Very scary conditions out here.
  16. nice work boys. sick dump. keep posting things like this and i'll have to reconsider my stance on fingerprinting
  17. rarely if ever goes below freezing. 5-10 degrees celcius is normal with plenty of warmer days thrown in during January-Feb. steadily warmer going into March. cool and sunny winter.
  18. really? if they look like this: then they be mine. good to figure out what happened, i went through all my stuff twice already trying to think of where i could possibly have packed them that i hadn't already looked
  19. hey FT, you wouldn't happen to have found a pair of grey mont-bell overgloves at your place at the end of last season? i can't find mine (and there's no more boxes to dig through) so i'm starting from the last place I used them...
