  1. Is that from the resort there Sanno? I`ve heard it`s pretty good.
  2. Easy now! Wednesday against Barcelona could be crucial. If that goes wrong then we may do an Arsenal, especially with Robben out and our strikers not quite getting it together. But well done to Newcastle, sounds like they played a good game. You got your eye on the Carling Cup scouser?
  3. bittorrents are a way of file sharing. A way of getting music or movies from other people. Similar to kazaa but the method is a bit different. Here`s an article about a kid suing kazaa and even more bizarely sony because he didn`t like the quality of the files he downloaded! http://www.thegreenrabbit.ca/content/view/152/50/ Have a look at the comments also, it looks like cheeseman may have made an appearance.
  4. Not good in the long run definitely, but had a really good day on the mountain near me on saturday. It was raining and probably 5 degrees with no real fresh snow for at least a week, thought it was going to be awful but turned out pretty well. No crowds and the slush was great for practicing in the park.
  5. If you go to the niseko now! report (the top of the page has a quick link) and scroll to the bottom you can check the daily reports for the last couple of years. Should give you a pretty decent idea of what it could be like.
  6. Cheers, i`ll check those out. Have you actually used any yourselves?
  7. I`m trying to get up to nagano for at least one more ski trip this winter. Unfortunately the skibus schedule where i live is extremely limited. I was thinking along the lines of getting to kobe or osaka and getting a bus from there. Does anyone know the contact details or timetables of skibus companies in kobe or osaka? Preferably ones that offer flexible trips i.e. where you can get one-way tickets or flexible returns and not only on the weekends.
  8. Lokitorrents has gone down recently and has a fun message up:
  9. EMERGENCY!!! I`ve just had a sudden change of plans. Was going to be in Gifu staying with a mate this weekend but he`s come down with food poisoning so desperately want to try to get up to Hakuba. Does anyone know of anywhere that by some miracle has space for 1 or 2 people for friday and saturday night????
  10. Cheers, sounds good, will see if my mate`s prepared to head up there. If not I may end up finding out why ontake is so bad...
  11. this place? http://www.snowjapan.com/e/resorts/resortdetail.php?resid=328 season: late april to late june is that for real???
  12. Not sure yet - am staying at a mates in Ena (near Nakatsugawa) so will hopefully do a couple of day trips from there. Any recommendations?

  14. 3 and 4 come out onto a winding green run. You have to walk up it to the gondola but it`s not far at all. 1 looked great from the lift but didn`t try it as am just new to trying these sort of runs and there are a couple of avalance blocks??? that look like they could be a little tricky if you misjudged where you were.
  15. Am a little curious about snow levels. I`ve been watching the snow levels on a couple of resorts in Hakuba and they seem to be vastly different. For example today Cortina got +70, 47/goryu got +20 and Happo-one got +0. Yesterday 47 got +50 while Happo only got +20 or so. Does such a different amount really hit those mountains or is only down to how and when it`s measured on the slopes?
  16. I`ve only been here for one season, but it was surprising how quick and hard spring set in when it came. The snow round here in Western Honshu (Tottori and Shimane in particular) went from 2m of half decent stuff to less than 1m of unrideable slush and rocks in what can`t have been much more than 2 weeks. It was all over by the beginning of March. Obviously it won`t be quite so bad in places with decent snow and mountains, but if an early spring comes it`ll all go pretty quick.
  17. If there are a few people on here with problems with them maybe it`s worth getting a group of complaints together. They might have to take more notice of that.
  18. I like that one. From what i remember being told it was a taunt to the French from medieval times. When the English captured french soldiers they cut off their two fingers to stop them being able to fire arrows. So it became a taunt on the battlefield..... " look at our fingers you fu May not be true but I hope it is.

I`ve developed quite a fondness for Daisen and Mizuho. If I had more choice I probably wouldn`t go back, but they`re definitely better than nothing.

  21. They`re class! Last day of the transfer market today. 22. Excellent! I remember there was a list of his better quotes on the Guardian website a while ago, made for fantastic reading. football365 has some of Rodney Marsh`s but they`re nowhere near as good http://www.football365.com/features/fun_features/story_141527.shtml
