  2. Yes sir! I haven't had a chance to purchase any of last month's releases, but here are some greats from the past couple of years... 'POP' by absinthe films - probably the best release from last year and if you want to see freeriding and powder this is it at its best 'Saturation', also absinthe films - same as above but the season before 'Vivid' by absinthe films - above 'White Balance' - freeriding mainly, big mountains 'afterlame' by robotfood - freestyle/freeriding/park, a fun film, great extras too, one of the best from last year 'Kingsize' by JD pictur

  5. Thats crazy! Thank god they 'arm' the doors when the plane sets off. Thats amazing how lightly she got off ($1000AU fine 12 months good behaviour)... i saw an elderly lady light up on a plane coming into Melbourne, there were 4 policemen waiting for her and a police van. She got fined $10,000! Lucky for the crazy french woman she didnt light up!
  6. I definitely agree with you there, although wait times are frustrating there is nothing worse than having stop every 50 meters to aviod a collision with another person! Crowded runs are terrible! Australia can have some pretty bad lift lines so you kind of get use to that. One thing i like about Japan is that they give priority to paying patrons over school groups. Here they let the school kids in before you, and when there is a whole pack of them it gets frustrating!

So the 'engine' may have started out as something else. yep i agree with that, what the documentary i was watching stated ( i don't necessarily agree) is that there are some devices in life (such as the bacterial tail) which cannot be reduced by any part, as doing this would make them redundant and functionless (hence would discontiune throughout evolution). the example they used was a mousetrap, you cannot take a part out of a mousetrap becuase if you did it would become
  8. I don't agree with ID, but i watched a doco supporting it last night and some of their arguments are facinating, specifically the 'tails' of bacterical cells which are in essence like drive shafts/engines, and irreducable in components meaning they could not have derived from evolution. That seemed a fair argument to me, but that got me thinking, with trillions upon trillions of bacteria in the world, could these instances of development be from sheer randomness, instead of evolution. Maybe one day a bacteria had the right parts in the right places and thus developed. That goes for any ot
  9. I remember a couple of weeks ago Snow Japan added maps of Niseko, i can't find them though but maybe someone else knows the link! I have a good map in english from last year which i can scan in a couple of days if you can't find anything else
  10. Ok just cause i want to shoot a pellet gun for a bit of fun doesn't mean i'm obsessed with tools of violence and aspire to rob banks!
  11. Quote: Originally posted by merryJim: What is a BB gun, and why do you really want one? pellet guns! i always wanted one as a kid but they have incredibly strict gun laws in australia since the port arthur massacre, so even pellet guns are illegal since then
  12. hahahaha that just made my day! way to take the piss out of the whole bird flu hysteria, thats great! nice find sanno
  13. I went to rusutsu the last two seasons for day each time, i'll tell you this much, both times it was AWESOME the second time especially, I don't think I've had a better day in my life, a whole mountainside to myself and my brother, we spent the whole day jumping and jibbing between the trees and never struggled to find new fresh tracks. Even though there will be a lot more aussies doing day trips this year, i still highly recommend you visit, I can't imagine that it will get that tracked out even this year. Rusutsu seemed to be a hell of alot less crowded compared to niseko,
  14. i don't care how old i am, this time in japan im going to blow money on a BB gun and fireworks, its one of those childhood dreams i just have to fulfill i went into a BB gun store in sapporo and was amazed by how realistic those guns are! almost exact replicas... sweet
  15. search the ski.com.au forums there should be lots of info on niseko already from seasons past, the snowjapan website has a bit of info also just be polite, respectable, as you would when being a guest anywhere
  16. yep, its all about freeriding and pow, thats what it should be about in my oppinion, you can take freestyle into off-piste and make use of the terrain in the trees by bonking, jibbing and jumping ect. you can try anything in the powder its so soft you don't stack hard, just have to watch the trees. vb's were like $9AU
  17. Is clothing very expensive, i always hear it is but i went to that big shoppinh cente in Otaru this year and most t-shirts and jumpers were much cheaper than here, i got an awesome hoodie for $35 AU, which is half the price i would here. In tokyo ect. its probably a very different story
  18. there was only a few small rails at hirafu last 2 seasons, and i can't remember seeing any decent rails in town
