  1. Well, we lost our first game. Liverpool and Arsenal also both drew.
  2. The Times gave it 1 out of 5 stars. I bet they love reviews like that!
  3. I know a few people who are very adept at sneaking round the rounds system and getting rather a lot of free drinks. They are renowned for it. Good people, but this one thing gets on all their friends nerves. It's not something that is easy to discuss either Here's a strategy if you are so inclined. Arrive 15 minutes early. Buy one for yourself, then normally it's technically your round and you have to get up to buy the other guy one when your friend arrives. But, as you are early if your pint is less than half, then it swaps and your friend will then feel the need to offer you a ref
  4. Went to Garfield 2 with my nephew. Painful it was.
  5. Liverpool looked quite sharp yesterday and very happily Chelsea did not. In the paper yesterday, an article on the "Best Premiership Pies". Here's the pick of the bunch Aston Villa - chicken balti - 6/10 and 4/10 Bolton Wanderers - cheese and onion - 0/10 and 1/10 Blackburn Rovers - Steak and Thwaites - 5/10 and 2/10 Liverpool - Meat and potato - 8/10 and 8/10 Newcastle United - Mince and onion - 5/10 and 4/10 Wigan Athletic - Chunky steak - 9/10 and 9/10 As should be expected, Wigan have won the Pie League.
  6. Great day here as well. Good for a day sitting outside a quiet pretty country pub with a few pints and a good friend.
  7. I find the amount of airmiles they give you on economy to be very poor. Hardly worth a huge trip for crappy snow.
  8. Good night! On for a few pints at The Ship in Burscough next weekend?
  9. Does anyone know what the current situation is in Japan - is foreign rice available at all? A know-it-all acquaintance here in the UK was telling me, with total confidence, that no a single grain of rice was allowed to be sold in Japan. And if it was the Japanese economy "would collapse". He's well know for overblown exaggerations.... I didn't have the info to backup my reply. Anyone help?
  10. Yes it sounds good doesn't it. In a small cornish village pub. (Or maybe even in the middle of Wigan town ).
  11. You can buy colour film these days. It's not much more expensive than b/w. Nice pics.
  12. Pies, yes, of course! Watermelon is frankly rubbish. As well as being annoying to eat, it don't taste of much. Posh though, so it scores on that front
  13. More interestinly, why oh why are Wigan paying 5.5m for HESKEY the Donkey. I'm not chuffed about that.
  14. Ever tried it Bushpig? It's like these 24 hour supermarkets. Sometimes I think of getting up at 3am just to go and see how many people are there.
  15. I mind dull teams getting through to the semis and the finals. If that means bye bye England, so be it. 5-4 to Brazil please in an exciting fun game with France losing right at the end in extra time. Haha ahaha.
  16. Cheers mate. See you in August Back to the footie, rach would you be sad if Ronnie Ronaldo left United? Apparently he said he wants out and to Madrid. Sounds like it might just be part of the politics that goes on round Madrid election times.
  17. Step On and that club mix of Halleluah (sp.) by The Happy Monday. Even then the vocals are poor. Good memories though.
  18. I don't know the name of them but I have found some very delish chocolates with blueberry sauce in the middle. They are very addictive. Cinder toffee... yes!
  19. Quote: Are you going to be back in Wigan over summer, pie-eater? Yes. On for a night out down the Ship?
  20. It sure was entertaining (as entertainment, not as a footie match!). I see Portugal are trying to get Deco available for the England game.
  21. Quote: Newcastle v Wigan First game away at Newcastle. Looking forward to that one. Europe here we come.....!
  22. Terry was well dodgy last night and Beckham almost totally useless. Equador were pretty much useless as well weren't they.
  23. That new Supes actor looks so much like Chris Reeve.
  24. It was. Things often get more consistently exciting once we're out of the leagues. Not that I'm not enjoying it so far of course, just a by the way.
