I'm off to Shiga Kogen this coming week with a friend and should be there and maybe Nozawa for a number of days. It's a big area, which do you like best? From what I can see there seem to be 3 main areas - the southern part (Yokoteyama/Kumanoyu), the middle part, then the northern part (Okushiga/Yakebitaiyama).

A couple of friends (who are a couple of gay men) have decided they want to get married. No-one's keen to do it in Japan though. Don't they get married here?

What else do they own in Hokkaido and Tohoku?

I haven't spend a whole lot of time there, but I had a decent day. The amazing snow made a big difference not sure I would have quite the same to say if it were anything other than. Nothing amazing like the other people said.
