  1. Kiwi kids.......are pissweak kids.......because they grow up to be crap rugby players who choke on important occasions like rugby world cup semi finals. Needed a bit more Weet-Bix on Saturday night by the looks. He he he, low blow I know but i couldn't resist, kiwi's were just so incredibly cocky last week. Flame on.
  2. My mate's first public onsen experience. Walks in still getting used to the whole big room full of naked men thing, first thing he sees is this old dude carefully shaving his bean bag while sitting on the floor. He said it was like a car wreck, you know you shouldn't stare but couldn't help it. The old dude finishes his job, tucks the whole package between his legs (so they face backward), lies back with his hands behind his head and has a quick snooze. Hen na Nihon-jin
  3. Ender, yeah that comment was directed a LOT more at the pumpkins as they lost there way big time after Siamese Dream. Soundgargen next album still rocked after that. Jesus Christ pose and outshined live was hard to beat IMHO. I am super envious of you seeing TOOL and a perfect circle. These, as well as the Janes's, are on the top of my "must see before dying" list. Grunge days sure were some good days. Nice one
  4. Any number of things is my guess, in all orifices (orify?) He also had "No Fun" and lost his "Lust for Life"
  5. Yeah, know what you mean. At age 9-10 I wasn't that fussy nor had a lot to compare it to. Except countdown with Molly of course. "Do yourself a favour!" (Aussies only)
  6. Thanks guys (where to start) Ocean, it's amazing how you can go see a band and be so impressed live, then listen to the studio stuff and be so unimpressed. Happened to me many times, I guess some bands now how to turn it on live. Veronica, I used to love listening to my brothers Depeche Mode "speak and spell" album when I was about ten, along with the whole Devo collection, "I just can't get enough" was a classic. Powwwwers, I can't believe I forgot that one. Prodigy BDO was also one of the best. Hawk is the master! And one stage I was addicted to going to live gigs.

  9. Going to Timo Maas on Friday here in Tokyo and it got me thinking "What has been my best concert experience?" One of them has to be the Big Day Out 93 (or was it 92) in Sydney, in particular the Smashing Pumpkins and Soundgarden. It was at the height of both bands before they turned crappy (or insane in the case of billy corgan). Everything was right, the weather, the company, the consumed sustances, adding up to a magic day. Another was the The Chemical Brothers, live set, Melbourne 2001, surrounded by scantily clad babes. Also the beastie boys gig in little Hobart, Tasmania was am
  10. Quote: What are you doing here anyways As little as humanly possible Japan is OK for the short term, just tends to send your priorities in life a little out of wack.
  11. I'm nominating db as the forum's official anti-cupid.
  12. Or glowing radioactive symbol, or "caution, syphillus, merkin in place" Seriously though, after much smirking and schoolyard banter I had never actually seen a picture of one till now. Now do you crap with that thing on (or do anything else for that matter)?
  13. Ooohhhh male gynos, I'm a bit sus on them. Still, nothing he hasn't seen before hey?
  14. Used to love frank. Glad to hear it still holds up. Kamo, where did you get the box set. I'm laughing just thinking about that show
  15. Scream 3, pile of excrement! Cube was great. Suspense, you can't beat it.
  16. Well that sounds a bit better Ocean. I will pass that on to my friend who is thinking of sending his wife home to Australia to give birth if they decide to have another tin lid soon.
  17. At the end of two years I am getting the **** outta here, taking the cash and heading somewhere with decent beaches and surf, clean air, minimum xenophobia, a sense of the individual, a sensible attitude to working hours and productivity, and a minimum of Louis Vitton bags. Only thing I'll miss is the snow and the Di-jockeys (and maybe the girls in boots and miniskirts..grrrr)
  18. Quote: Care to expand on the "horror stories from Mums"? Certainly; Internal intrusive examinations rather than modern external ultrasounds, shithouse dection rates for major birth defects such as Down's Syndrome, Doctors word is final (i.e you get epidurals when HE says you do and no arguing with him as he is a DOCTOR, missionary positon birthing despite what is more natural or comfortable for the mother, the use of clamps around the skull of the baby during birth despite the hign risk of brain damage, stranglation of the baby by the umbilical cord due to inexperience of the doctor and the
  19. Early December. Mate's just brought a WRX with racks. I'll try and get him going at the first sniff of snow then we'll rally style it up to Nags
  20. Yeah but Ocean after working at Pizza Hut, how the hell did you know you arse from your elbow in regards to making pizza Were you teaching the welsh boys what not to do, how to minimise topping to dough ratios, or how to inject more grease into a pizza?
  21. I large part of the problem is that (correct me if I am wrong) the Japanese health system does not allow importation of foreign pharmacueticals for use in the country without strict guidelines, to reduce competition with domestic products. Therefore a large proportion of drugs in this country have not been shown to be safe or effective in double blind crossover clinical tests. You get the dodgy Nihon version while people in other countries get the proven realiable medication. Be careful what you take in this country. Also the problem with stopping antibiotics before the full course is that e
  22. nekobi, My botany lecturer at uni used to do this as well on assignments, I touch of class I think!
  23. Yeah sorry, I should have rephased what I said. The publishers of his work are running out of material (or have run out) because, as you say he has retired. It makes me sad because I think I have seen every one of his strips by now. The far side is particularly funny if, like me, you are surrounded by geeky scientists all day.
  24. Saw it last night. Battle scene in the dock was quite a watch and the machine city looked good. Ending was crap and I am still confused but can't be bothered thinking about it anymore. Enjoyed the ride but some cheesy sections and typical Hollywood story lines. Somone want to explain the Smith vs neo ending to me? No, I thought not.
