% of people not owning a passport
guzzlers-baps replied to DokiDokiWakuWaku's topic in General off-topic discussions
90% without passport? I wonder what the number in the UK would be, much lower I guess. I think everyone I know in the UK has one -tons of people go abroad every year, I suppose lots of Europe is so close. -

Got a few friends working in the City, not heard from any of them. Very frustrating times. -

Thoughts on makeup...
guzzlers-baps replied to guzzlers-baps's topic in General off-topic discussions
Why do you post that Indosnm, any particular reason? Please read the title of the thread "Thoughts on makeup...". You got any? I wasn't asking particularly about comparing to Japan (although as I said I do notice that back in my home country more than here.) -
Cheesemans "Cheese of the Week"
guzzlers-baps replied to cheeseman's topic in General off-topic discussions
Good one, like it. Also like Wallace and Grommit - they're having their first movie later this year did you know? There may be a starring role for some Wensleydale. -
Hey guys, here's a question for you. Do you like a girl wearing make up? I notice when I'm back in England just how much many women over there wear and it looks almost silly to me now. They look like clowns. There's a friend of my mother who wears so much it almost makes me laugh now. Hey eyelids are often a bright sparkling silver color, actually thinking about it I don't think I've actually ever seen here without it. I know when I was younger I used to wear much more than I do now... now it's just a touch. guzzler approves of that.

Look at this http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/4070522.stm "Couples who want to share more than vows are getting the opportunity to share their bone too in a "bio jewellery" research project. Using bioglass, a special bioactive ceramic which mimics the structure of bone material, researchers are growing rings made out of the couples' bone." I hope they wash it properly and take all the flesh off first.

Top 10 Restaurants....in the WORLD
guzzlers-baps replied to mfurmane's topic in General off-topic discussions
Well well, this seems to be the testosterone thread of the month, hey? I think England is quite good at bread actually. Perhaps I would, can't tell. But there's some brilliant places near where I'm from. I often find that whenever I go somewhere overseas I like the food. Probably because I'm going to decent places to eat and trying out new stuff. It's always exciting to do that rather than go back home and have to make something in an evening after a day at work. -
Complaining / taking things back
guzzlers-baps replied to BagOfCrisps's topic in General off-topic discussions
I always take something back if I have good reason to. And in a restaurant if the food is really bad they will certainly here from me! -
Have you seen that really cute standing panda dude in Chiba zoo, it was on the news tonight. Kawaii!!! Looks like a human in a suit! I looked for a pic of him on the web, but this is what I found: They look like they're getting on grand.

The "am I weird?" counseling thread
guzzlers-baps replied to DumbStick's topic in General off-topic discussions
I once opened the door, forgetting I was (almost) naked! I was nearly as shocked as the takyubin guy who answered. -
I'm going to open myself to ridicule here quite possibly, but here goes. You look up into the sky and see planes flying overhead and clouds. (Hopefully not quake ones, I'm staying well away from that!) OK that's great, but how far can you see? Like if I am looking towards Hokkaido here in Kobe, the furthest point of sky I can see on a clear day where will that be above? Does that make any sense?
-
I make a good quiche - not too much cheese though. Lots of spinach.
-
Interesting to see people in all sorts of places in Japan on here, from Hokkaido down to Kyushu. It would be interesting to hear how people got to some of the smaller place?

The place that was used for the Bond baddie place in Die Another Day right? I'd love to watch the Triffids again, I thought that was ace when I was little.
