What do you reccon, guilty, not-guilty? If she is guilty then shes not very good at being a drug smuggler. Just out of curiosity, is pot worth more in Aust or Bali. I have never never been to Bali and have never purchased anything in Sydney but I would have thought that it would have been worth more in Sydney making her fairly obviously innocent. http://tvnz.co.nz/view/news_world_story_skin/572000%3fformat=html

Pow ski length
jared replied to sava's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Like Yama said I would want it at least as tall as you. A little shorter may be acceptable if its super fat. -
Snowboarders may have voluntarily retarded themselves but that’s no reason for exclusion. I had to change a few of the words in the philosophy below but the principles are the same. It’s all about including those less able and less fortunate than yourself. Our philosophy People with a snowboarding disability have the right: To be treated with respect and dignity To have a say in their own lives To live, learn, work and enjoy life as part of the snow sliding community To have support that meets their goals and aspirations To be part of a snow sliding family To make

That way I dont have to go through the hastle of getting most of it refunded. anyone got any horror stories to make me change my plan or does it sound like a reasonable plan. The car will likely be scrapped when I leave.

Skiing backwards
jared replied to oblivion's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
ahh in that case ... it is fairly easy to ski backwards and I imagine most skiers can do it esp. those that like the park and want to do 180s 540s or just fill in time on the flatter sections. -

I purchased a Thule roof box 2 years ago and now its become brittle and is cracking - I am beginning to think it could fall of the roof if it gets much worse - is that worth complaining about? Do you think they would care after 2 years? am I expecting too much?

Atomic M:10 / Tweak
jared replied to sava's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Looks like the Canadians have chopped the same thing up into more levels - same with ski instructing though NZ following suit adn is inventing a pre-stage one from next year to be the equivalant of US and Canadian stage one. Of course avalanche training is only a small part of ski guiding http://www.nzmga.co.nz/tr_ski_home.htm -

What do you mean by "binding drag"? Are you saying that they are too wide for the skis? I have a pair but I havent used them yet - the line skis I got (and siem got) were shipped directly to NZ. Siems getting some too. If we really dont like them we can always get others - and there wont even be any extra holes in our skis. It really does make traveling with multiple pairs of skis easy. anyway, we will see. Sava - forget shopping in OZ or NZ - they are overpriced. Even including shipping better deals are available if you buy from the US, especially now that the season is ove -
Yes Try here http://everything2.com/index.pl?node_id=950214 sample "Determining how to best troll your audience. The most obvious choice would be the Right Wing Maniac. The RWM is a die-hard conservative - since the rest of the Internet is liberal, the RWM model is perfect for trolling. People will become enraged when they read a carefully crafted RWM troll and will quickly waste brainpower typing an inflammatory reply. Another model is the Left Wing Maniac. Should the two ever meet, it would be the Armageddon of flame wars. The LWM is somewhat less popular than th

also check www.tramdock.com and www.backcountry.com and www.backcountryoutlet.com May not have much stock in at the moment though. Get a pair of 85 - 100 mm underfoot skis for Japan. You will seldom use anything else here apart from spring and early season before the trees are available. Get yourself some Line assasins and some Line motherships and one pair of reactor bindings. -

I was just saying the other day that I had no idea what it is in Japan while at home its in the news before every long weekend or public holiday.

2004/5 Season Vids
jared replied to SnowJapan.Com#2's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Not much chance of a spring touring vid as we wont be doing any. My parents have been visiting for a few weeks so we didnt really get much skiing in. I think we will be sending alot of our ski gear home with them so there wont be much skiing after they leave either. Back home we will be fairly busy but I will do some work if I can get some. I have a few courses I want to do and so does Shimba. -
Head gear
jared replied to flask and butties's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
A little more on topic - I just got a new Giro 9. Its a lot less yellow than my old one. Alot of people have stopped wearing helmets reciently but I cant imagine skiing trees or doing rails without one. I know I can still break myself good with a helmet on but I feel the chance of dying for a silly slip is reduced. -
