Just for your reference, doc, a one week package for me from Hong Kong including everything: Ski rentals, plane tickets, ground transport, food etc... usually sets me back by about US$2K. I went to Club Med once, and I think that was the most expensive, that was over 3K.

From what I remember, there used to be a small number of English speaking intructor there. I don't know about now but I expect there should be. I am taking a group of beginners and intermediate skiers and I think they expect me to be their instructor. The many undemanding slopes there should be good for this.

Hi,xxx. Yes, it is extremely expensive. Usually, I come for about a week each trip. Depends on my holidays and whether resorts have vacancies. For example, this Christmas I wanted to stay a week in Rusutsu but the resort only gave me 5 days (3 nights) so now I am trying to squeeze in a few nights at Kiroro nearby. By the way, I love your movie "Triple X" especially the avalancle/snowboard scene.

I finally just got my booking at Rusutsu confirmed, so I will be there for Christmas! Any one else headed that way?

There is a big specialist sports shop (6 floors + 1 basement) called Sapporo Sports, I think. It is located at South 3 - West 3. Another big place is somewhere in the middle of the Tanuki Koji Shopping Arcade. These two are well stocked but if you are looking for bargains, maybe they are not the ideal places to go shopping in.
