  2. Thanks BCS and SerreChe. tday, we didn't drink too much beer while we were there but had some saki though. Anyway, when you become a dad, let's go and down some pints.
  3. Spiceys are very good. Their equipment is very new and the prices are reasonable.
  4. That's for the feedback, timcraig. SerreChe, I totally agree with you about getting screwed as a result of people claiming their ability to be something it is not. The group I brought over during Christmas had a few people whom I hadn't known before and there were at least 4 whom I consider to be beginners having now watched them ski/board but nevertheless claimed they were intermediate and didn't need lessons. I had a tough time during my first outing with them because they couldn't handle Happo (the lower parts were not open yet) and realize I should have sent them to Tsugaike that day ins
  5. I just met a bunch of people last night who said they would be going to Hakuba next week. They are mainly snowboarders and they said they would like to do a one day BC guided tour while they are there. So I thought I would recommend Evergreen to them but just thought I would ask whether there are any others besides Evergreen who are worth recommending or even if anyone who like to take them on privately?

From what I heard, he is still waiting. Sorry to hijack this thread, but SHE CALLED! It was last night and if any of you don't believe it, I totally understand because I still don't myself. Now I have her number (because of caller display..hehe, didn't even have to ask for it!) and I will be asking her out soon.
  8. Let's set the record straight. The liftie was a she not a he. Also, after that it was a trickle down leg side not tickle.
  9. I really didn't want to bring that up. Let's leave that for oblivion.
  10. That explains why I was thrown out of the lift queue a few times. Once I was bowled out and once I was given a lbw by the liftie. I was a bit pissed at the first one, but the second one was kimochi.
  11. That's a hard trick to master, BP. To get that trick to work properly, you have to hold a spoon in a threatening manner and then say you are going to throw a fork at someone. Then, the hardest part is landing that spoon on the plate. I'm still practicing the first part of that trick without success.

  13. Mos burger just opened last week in Hong Kong and there were some long lines for that. I doubt those long lines will last though.
  14. Quote: Originally posted by Mantas: Well it does...Doesn't it ?? The guys just missing his head. Actually, judging from the position, I'd say the head isn't missing, it's deep inside her. Oops, wait a minute, I may be off on this one. Which head where you talking about?
  15. Whistler? Quick, grab a few beers now, there's too much blood in your alcohol system, you're not making sense AGAIN! I'm going to Trois Vallees in France, not Whistler. Hope I find some snow there.
  16. Wait a minute, Japan does come out as fourth largest for house sizes in that link, why did you think it was off the mark, BP? Nevertheless, I'm still confused. If the average house size in Japan is 95 sq metres, that seems very small if apartos are not included, but then, if apartos are included, it seems too big. I'm just guessing but I think when they say house, they are including apartos.
  17. What does that mean exactly, BP? "House sizes" as in "Big"? Does it mean Australia has the biggest houses? If so, do they count only "houses" in the strict sense of the word and exclude "apartos". If apartos are included, that's hard to believe but without them, I guess that's plausible for Japan.
  18. From Hakuba station, catch the train to Matsumoto. Besides doing some shopping there, you can check out the Matsumoto Castle. That's really worth seeing. When you're finished in Matsumoto, you can take the train to Shinjuku and get on the Narita express there for the airport.
  19. Lawn bowls? No, that's not my thing, but you got the rest right. Yeah, avoiding Hakuba for Christmas seems shrewd, and if you're going with infants, Club Med is a good bet because they have really good child-care arrangements. Do check-out Hakuba at some time, though.
  20. Quote: Originally posted by thursday: ooh, FT, then I'd better not bring my group of nerds your way then.. Eating, laughing, drinking, then spontaneously wanting to play cards and gamble heavily. Threats, threats and more threats! Here's one from me: You'd better bring your nerds over to Hakuba soon and let Fattwins teach them how to have a good time without being a nuisance to everyone else and at the same time learn some good spelling too or else I'll kick your ass right out of this forum. OK just kidding. Actually, I'd bet they would be very welcome and would have a great time
  21. Yes, it's quite expensive in HK, much more than what they would cost in the US or Canada and double the price of other donuts here. I wonder what they are charging in Japan for them.
  22. I had a bad experience in Switzerland. My wallet, with hundreds of euros in it was picked from my wallet while I was having dinner. That compares with my seeing a daffy friend who often comes with me to Japan, drop her wallet on several occasions and her passport once, only to get it returned to her after a few inquiries at the nearest uketsuke each time.
  23. Something like that happened at 47 over Christmas. The problem was, as the lower parts of the slopes were closed due to lack of snow, people couldn't just ski down so every one was forced to queue for the gondola which was slow and sometimes stopping because of the winds. A good number were stuck up there, but I don't think there was as much as 3000. I was at Happo and called it a day early in the afternoon because of the wind (on hindsight, that was a good decision). Poor BCS was up there with some off my group and was treated to a really scary ride down that gondola with them after queuing
  24. Good to have your side of the story, likesDP. As I said in another thread, it did not seem you were involved but FT's post was so vague, it seemed to imply that. It's good that you had fun and will be good back. Too bad I missed you as our schedules didn't overlap.
