  1. Who knows when it will bust, thats just the thing with bubbles. There are some signs people rely on, a bit on that below. But before that, a comment on what MrW raised: the mico nature of the bubble. There is no natural organic demand for these assets. The investors and speculators and the people providing income on the investments and performance on the speculations are all from a specific segment. Unlike Sydney and London etc people don't need to live in Niseko. Very few people need a property there. So in the absence of rents and asset income from holiday makers, there is littl
  2. Cool! It snowed a bit up near here as well. I am very tempted to hit Hintertux this weekend.... http://www.hintertuxergletscher.at/en/cam3.html
  3. If Harmony are not commoditising it for commercial gain, then it does not exist.
  4. I don't think a shop in Oz or Japan can sell only to a certain nationality and accept only a foreign currency. Although I am sure plenty do go out of their way to favour a certain bias. Who is Mr Sebago? I have been thinking over a property purchase in NZ (South Island, west coast) for a long time. Might even buy a few Merino sheep. When I was young I clipped, spun and partially knitted my own jumper from my own sheep. I can't see it in my near future though. - John Williamson, he's almost too 'True Blue' for me . Nah, joking, he writes some good honest Australian folk so
  5. Why would tourists want to buy a Hawaiian cultural artifact in Guam? Your prospective customers must be very stupid to buy an expensive souvenir from a place that they didn't even visit.
  6. Soon to be 3 snowboards in active service. Also 1 pair of skis. 1 retired snowboard
  7. Back then I didn't understand what the labels 'folk band' nor 'political statement' where. But I recognised two of their bigger hits as being more than songs. They certainly wrote one of the best post Vietnam songs I know, it suited very well Australia's own experience of the war (not that I am a compendium of Vietnam music, mind you). They played in our small shitty town at the Civic Centre, we were in the alcohol free seated section and I was standing on the seat. My best mate was there with his mum as well. Anyway, Niseko is a precarious bubble that's still inflating on emotion

But it isn't misplaced passion... after all, they became Hawaiian cultural icons ever since some Portuguese dudes rocks up in Honolulu and started making them in 1879. Truth be told, the uke is an adaptation of a 4 stringed Latin guitar that has been played for 100's of years before the Hawaiian version became well known. All of this makes me ask, what the hell is a man doing selling modern Hawaiian cultural icons in Guam? Where's the respect? I suppos
  9. Reggae, hip hop, rap, country western. I'd rather eat poo put bits of it in my ears and nose. I am after mainly an Acoustic guitar (but a big one, not a small guitar).
  10. Quote: Originally posted by Kintaro: The small guitar as you like to refer to it is called an ukulele in real life. Really, I've never heard it called that before. All these years, I just thought it was a small guitar. A ukulele you say? hmmm. Quote: Originally posted by Kintaro: So are you saying an ukulele isn't really an ukulele? No ok, enough of this. Really, I know what a ukulele is. Its pretty much a small guitar with fishing line for strings. . They are an important cultural icon of Hawaii aren't they? All this resentfulness towards the snow covered pimple stems from the fact that many snazzy entreprenaurs are raking it there. Their next stop is Furano. Just had a heap of emails from them about this new undiscovered destination. Now if this was to happen to Hakuba, how would the tone turn? Well, Hakuba would be ruined. I don't remember anyone else's first post but yours. It was a ripper opening, considering a bu
  12. Its the now failing Aussie property hysteria flowing over into a new location. God damn, some people up there are going to get hurt. Greed + Ignorance + Hope = just enough winners to make everyone believe that no one ever loses. Its a bubble. The property boasts: Quote: Prime location - Located on main road route 343 - Triangle shaped block - Yotei views Doesn't it have a view of the actual Niseko ski hill (literally). Or isn't that seen as an attribute? Getting mails from my mates in Melbourne and it is big time "I've been to Bali too" except n
  13. Yeah! First cold day today, like properly cold. It was supposed to snow near me but quite, perhaps tonight. I is currently 6 degrees outside at my lofty altitude of 40m ps - slow, I don't work/live in those buildings, no connection. They are just my surroundings. Frank Gehry desu yo.
  14. Geez Ger, take a chill man I am still searching for some mainstream heavy rock for this season. So far I only have ASG in my sights. I also want some guitar and singing semi-hippy pot smoking music (I must sound so ignorantly offensive). Not stuff like Jack Johnson, he gets right up my nose that guy.
  15. Hey Spook, I missed your clip first time round, sorry about that. Its almost freaky! But pretty good quality considering the situation, it came out really well. Not that your are ugly, but you should have pointed the camera forward. I guess you gotta ride a mal to surf waves that small.
  16. The stuff in the above pictures cant be normal man made snow, unless it was made inside a facility then dumped in place my trucks. Krusty and stanii seem to be the experts, but I don't think you can produce man made snow in nice neat piles like that Why would they dump it there so early, unless it was to support a one-off little run along a path of ice surrounded by grass. SJ3, what have they done with it since you took the pictures. Its going to melt sooner or later. Stanii - I hear that in France there are problems with very slow melting man made snow in spring. Some resort
  17. We recently found this amusing. Drunk at the time, so now a week or so later I don't remember which bit was so funny. It would help if I could read it. http://www.city.nanto.toyama.jp/webapps/www/info/detail.jsp?id=1233

The game is simple really, you can ski and look at pimples or you can ski and look at mountains. "know" the game. Is it a Honk Konk habbit to corect peoples spelling and grammer? Not a good ploy when you have no thing better to say in responce to a good post from Fattwins. And you aren't scared of heights, you are scared of steep slopes. You've had y
  20. >I was completely disoriented and confused for days. I had this weird thing going on where it was like all these subconscious thoughts from my dreams etc were muddled in with actual events. So basically I was just garbling crap for days… People pay a lot of money and break the law for that kind of thing. Consider yourself lucky
