  1. I'm a boarder. I'm in Melbourne so there's a few shops here I can check out. But I like the sound of the Tokyo shops so in order to avoid carrying it I might wait til there.
  2. If they are only 6000 yen in Tokyo for last seasons I would prefer to buy some there. Would they be easy enough to find for that price or a similar price?
  3. Thanks. Are they really all that bad quality in Hakuba? Is it worth bringing my own bindings. I have actually got some so wouldn't have to buy them but i'm not overly keen on carrying them around for 2.5 weeks before we hit the slopes.
  4. Ok so we're going to Hakuba in January and 3 of us have at least size 10 feet. We've heard its difficult to rent these kinds of sizes in Japan. Is this true and should we try to bring boots from home?
  5. so hakuba is where there's a bit of nightlife and good snowboarding/skiing?
  6. Thanks soooo much for the help. We are not looking for budget. Mid to High range would be fine. I suppose we are not looking to meet loads of people in bars or anything but one or two bars would be fun and some restaurants. is it ski on ski off in Nozawa or does that just depend on where you stay? Any recommendations for Nagano? The fire festival does look great.
  7. ok sorry. got it. so can anyone recommend a resort on honshu that has a cultural aspect and good runs and wouldn't be too busy around that time and i will look into it.
  8. How far is Honshu from Tokyo? (Sorry for the ignorance and lack of time to look it up myself but i'm under the pump at work). Can we get a train? Can anyone recommend some of the good ones there. I've never been to Japan and I would like to get a more cultural experience than lots of Aussies in bars.
  9. My family and I are heading to Japan for 9 days from 10th January from Australia and London. I think my family want to go to a resort on the mainland. Is it worth me trying to persuade them to go to Niseko or are there some good resorts on the mainland. We are concerned about the time it will take to get up to Niseko as we want to spend a few days in Tokyo and perhaps a night in Kyoto. Can anyone recommend a good resort? We are both snowboarders and skiiers and I am at beginners level snowboarding. Thanks
