  1. Was discussing this with a friend this morning after the Niigata/Nagano strong quake following on from the devastation of yesterday and this developing situation. So, on a day like today, with all that misery and destruction, you any qualms about getting out on skis? Feel a bit bad about doing it. Don't feel like it anyway? Let's poll
  2. If I were you I would make the most of being able to travel cheap and go down to Hiroshima and do Kyoto too. Sounds like a plan.
  3. Something like this. If you are doing more than one of them you will be staying somewhere right? I'm sure it is doable. To Tenjin: Bus from Minakami St. 25 mins Taxi from Doai St. <5 mins Bus from Jomo Kogen St (Shin) 50 mins To Kawaba: Bus from Jomo Kogen St, 50 mins Bus from Numata St, 30 mins To White World: Bus from Jomo Kogen, 80 mins To Marunuma - well, you're going there anyway
  4. Love the night shots. Is it easy to get decent photos up there at night?
  5. It looks a fair distance on the maps. I can imagine a fair while on local roads. Do not get stuck behind a truck or oyaji doing 20kmh!
  6. 2nd photo - is that the monsters area at the top of the gondola?
  7. Whats this doing on the 2nd page? --- OK here's some news RUSSELL BRAND and KATY PERRY spent their first married night under armed guard in a tent - after a man-eating TIGER crashed their wedding. The feared beast, which has killed THREE locals in a year, scaled two walls and was just 50ft from the couple's celebrations in an Indian wildlife park when horrified minders saw it.
  8. How's your relationship with family - parents, brothers, sisters etc? I found that this summer I felt more detached from my brother than I have before. Strange there were a few incidents involving money - almost insignificant things - that gave me the impression that he was being a bit stingy, though I find out later that he was thinking the same about me. Can't remember things being like that, though I suppose it is because I'm changing from living here not him from being back home. Made me thing though about relationships - even though there are little niggles, generally our fami
  9. Joetsu City (to the north of Myoko) in Niigata then on through into Toyama is what I heard.

Hard to shake the stingy bastard/annoying feeling hey.
  11. Not keen on rounds myself now, it makes things more complicated than they should be. There's one dude back home who I think takes detailed notes of who has what, and past history. He is very annoying in that respect and it makes going out with him in the group a real pain.
  12. Everyone has to have their weekend break of course.

  14. Do they not know they are there are something? Also that bare midriff tyre, its just repulsive. Keep it in please!
  15. Why should these people pay tax Again when they die? Have they not paid super taxes on their super wealth when alive? [Lets ignore for now certain super rich who might be able to fiddle taxes etc] I cannot see the justification of the inheritance tax.
