What did you do with the one that was left over DB? I cooked pasta the other night. And I night the same pasta the next night. Luckily tonight I didn't have pasta.

It's still summer. Bored. Video.

Thanks for the compliment DB. We should jump on a plane over to Colorado for early season lines! Would get me out of Tokyo for a while ... cheer me up a bit. Anyway, 'bibimba' = bibimbap in Korean,(say 'beebeembop', basically), where bibim is (roughly) 'stir' and 'bap' is rice. That is what my old Korean friend told me, anyway. The spelling at your local Korean may not be as authentic and correct as you think Spuddy. -
European summer nights are great, but take a while to get used to. All that freedom to go and play after work! If only they would think like that here in Japan.

Does anyone know why people do this?

How was it that early in the season Tsonda? Are you going to do the opening weekend again this season? -

Doesnt sound too bad there spud! Come on ... You could be surrounded by neverending concrete like here in Tokyo! And by the way, it is BIBIMBA! -
"Why do Western guys like Japanese gals so much?"

I think Japanese people are the most television-obsessed people in the world. The amount of money spent on producing extremely bad TV shows here is just ridiculous. People should read more books or get a hobby?! Just sitting there all day passively watching TV does not constitute a hobby as far as I am concerned. -
2006 summer / mtn pics

Looks great Montoya. Excellent pics indeed! I have to make the effort to get up into the mountains more in summer. I enjoyed the mountains so much in Europe this summer and once I get settled down again I will definitely be back up there getting my hiking boots nice and dirty! -
Let us know how you went finding a cheap esky (cooler box) Tsonda. Those DIY stores Ocean mentioned look interesting.

Looks good but not perfect, as Indo says. I wonder whereabouts it was? I dont have sound on my computer at the moment so maybe TC gave details but ... Was this part of the "Taifu Red Bull" thing or not?

Very pricey indeed DB. BUT, once you spend a few months in one you will forget the money you forked out and it will become a way of life. After 2 months in one (the type 2 VW campervan) in France, Spain and Portugal recently I am already planning my next campervan holiday and have pretty much decided that after I retire (whenever that might be!) I am going to have a very extended trip in one again. Just think how much you will save in accomodation!!!

European alps ski villages

I bet LE SPUD will have something to say on this. I was recently in CHAMONIX and found it to be relatively pretty but it is nothing on Swiss ski villages, supposedly. I havent been to Nozawa Onsen either but supposedly that is very pretty. Is on my TO DO list for this winter. -
Niseko Alpine Apartments
woywoy replied to wiseman's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
You have to be kidding mate ... You think 29000yen per night per person is cheap? You could find something for the fifth of that. Also, does anyone else keep getting emails from these people at "Niseko Alpine Apartments" wanting them to buy property in Niseko? I get it all the time. It is certainly the last place I would buy property. -

Great pics bushy. I am really missing the sakura here in Sydney at the moment ... It is great here too though. Surfing, eating, sleeping and relaxing is an excellent daily routine at the moment. -
