Where are you from?
amandanism replied to miss-snowflake's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
im half canadian, half australian. my parents live in tokyo and i go to boarding (not snowboarding unfortunately) school in singapore (just finishing up my final year) -
players usually form a wall on a free kick thats about 25-30yards (or in any dangerous position) from the goal. the wall has to be atleast 10 yards away from the ball... my school team played the singapore national team yesterday and scored on a free kick getting it past the wall.

Japan - out of the terrorist spotlight?
amandanism replied to snowboard_freak's topic in General off-topic discussions
singapore which was once considered pretty safe is getting bomb threats at a few of the expat visited places. (if you know singapore boat quay, and mohammed sultan rd) its pretty bad because i go to an international school which is considered a target. the american school here has numerous armed gurkas (dont know how to spell it, but the nepalese soldiers) everythign is pretty tense here (singapore) at the moment. -
since my mom moved to japan shes starting to bake again [singapore was too humid to bake most things] which is pleasant when i return from eating boarding house food for a year.

i go to boarding [not snowboarding unfortunately] school. and we only have 1 english channel on the tv. so i dont have time, or a desire to watch tv. i watch about half an hour a week, and thats on a good week. at home however, i watch a sickly amount. even if im not strictly watching it, i have the football or mtv on in the background.

Snowboard Boot Revue

Quote: Originally posted by enderzero: Everyone complains about finding large sizes in Japan. How about American size 10? Is that hard to find? i got a pair of 32 boots in a size 28 which is about a US 10. the guy showed me about 4 pairs of boots in that size. and depending on your feet, you might be able to fit into a 27.5. and i saw a few boots in that size. -
i like it. its a guilty pleasure. but i only watch in when im in japan.

8mm was very disturbing, but very well done. it got a PG rating here. which disgusted me a bit. if u havnt seen memento yet, i highly suggest it. its the sort of movie u can watch over and over and keep finding new bits.
