  1. Woman ‘pregnant’ with 12 baby squid A woman became “pregnant” with 12 baby squid after eating calamari. The shocked 63-year-old felt a sharp pain in her mouth as she bit into a portion of whole cooked squid. She immediately spat out the sea creature — along with its internal organs — but could still feel “small, squirming organisms” in her mouth. Doctors in South Korea examined the woman and found 12 squid spermatophores attached to her tongue, cheek and gums. A “spermatophore” is a sac of semen that implants itself in the female squid before a mechanism shoots out sperm and fertilises

  6. Not usually into that kind of program, but I find the Apprentice somehow addictive. Interesting to see who comes over as smart -- and the opposite. And how even smart people can say really dumb things.
  7. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeee's back! Japan's prime minister, Yoshihiko Noda, faces a potential threat to his leadership after Ichiro Ozawa, a rival and powerful figure inside the governing party, was acquitted of breaking political funding laws. TV networks broke into scheduled programming to report Ozawa's acquittal by a Tokyo court on Thursday morning. The decision has reignited speculation about a possible challenge to Noda's leadership over controversial plans to double consumption tax to 10% by 2015. Although he has never been prime minister, Ozawa is known as the "shadow shogun" for the

The set of Mattel's two plastic figurines, which will be released in stores on April 29 to coincide with the royal couple’s one-year wedding anniversary, costs $100.

  13. I bet Arnie'll like this! Tokyo Electric Power Co. injected boric acid into a reactor at its crippled Fukushima nuclear plant to prevent an accidental chain reaction known as re- criticality after temperatures rose in the past week. The temperature of the No. 2 reactor was 70.1 degrees Celsius (158 degrees Fahrenheit) as of 6 a.m. today, according to preliminary data, Akitsuka Kobayashi, a spokesman for the utility, said by phone. The reading fell from 72.2 degrees at 5 a.m. this morning, and is below the 93 degrees that’s used to define a cold shutdown, or safe state, of the reactor.
