  1. Quote: Being naked in your hotel room was a crime in Beijing at the time Nuts!
  2. In the scenario you mention above (did you read that SJ??), I'd probably just get to the left a bit until it passed. I didn't know you were supposed to stop whatever. Quote: The roads is clear in both directions. The road is wide - comfortably 3 cars width. The road is straight - so you can see about 2km in front of you. You are going in one direction and in the other direction, coming towards you, there is an ambulance with the sirens and lights going.
  3. I did a bit of both this last season and am increasingly enjoying skiing again. It's good to mix it up and have fun. I often choose the board though like you snowglider if tons of pow
  4. Quote: are you trying to start an arguement? or is that an attempt at a joke? Neither. Is there a line and who draws it?
  5. Quote: People have the right to seek and receive information and to express their peaceful beliefs online without fear or interference. Do you think people have the right to seek and receive information and to express their non peaceful believes online without fear or interference?
  6. Anyone see Monaco qualifying with The Chin apparently cheating? Again. "Michael Schumacher has been stripped of pole position for the Monaco Grand Prix and will have to start Sunday's race from the back of the grid. The Ferrari driver controversially beat Renault's Fernando Alonso to pole position in qualifying on Saturday. But after an eight-hour inquiry, race stewards said he deliberately stopped on the track after spinning, preventing his rivals from setting a faster time."
  7. Looks awesome. I really have to haul myself over there one year, I need to visit Europe.
  8. I know a guy who is 87 and skis, which I find very impressive.
  9. I was in an onsen last weekend and this guy (Japanese) walked in - almost half his body covered in onsen. Most people were checking him out. I asked my Japanese friend whether tattoos were officially "allowed" and he said no they weren't allowed but as more Japanese get them (?) that is being overlooked. Impressive looking thing it was. He looked a right fool though (as does everyone who has a tattoo imho).
  10. Oh, I'll give that smelly place a miss then (Not into seafood).
  11. I wonder what part of the above post rahul doesn't understand?!?
  12. I've had a really busy and increasingly stressful week and a phone call with a guy who is just a complete fool (work related) just before lit the explosives before. Unfortunately I then went and took it out on an unsuspecting friend who called. Difficult to go into details but I was probably quite rude when I really shouldn't have been and really regret it. It's like that sometimes though isn't it? Things build up and then in some frustration you might blow those frustrations off on other people. I'll call him back a bit later and apologise and try to make up. Anyone done
  13. OK the new year holiday is over now and people are probably all back to work by now. So - how many times out so far for you. I'm on 0. First time is tomorrow.
  14. Yes they do - I often ask for that time if I order something to be sure I'm in. Takyubin is a fantastic service.
  15. Are you going to the CHEESE FESTA 05 this weekend cheeseman?
  16. OK but why pay this tax in the first place, that's what I don't understand. Why don't they just pay through the bank transfer, where in fact the tesuryo would be 105 yen instead of 200 yen whether they paid or I paid it. It's just that the invoice says "client pays the bank transfer charge" and so I was expecting to receive the full amount not have to put a silly 200 yen stamp on a piece of paper to get the cash. Seems I have things to learn.
  17. I recently have been doing some work on my own and am quite new to this, a bit of advice would be great on this situation (a different one to the other one the other week!) I invoiced a client. On the invoice it says clearly (all in Japanese) that the client is to pay the bank charges. Anyone this one client comes to the office to pay in cash - to avoid having to pay bank charges so it seems. He pays and then asks for a receipt that has a 200 yen stamp on it (can't remember the name of the stamp, but he says it is necessary for payments of over 30,000 yen). I didn't have any so he wil
  18. Thanks for feedback! I should have mentioned, this was al done in Japanese not English (so he wasn't mixing it up)
  19. What I did is almost a non-story, it is so insignificant. Unless, of course, I really am just totally unaware of some terrible crime I did at the same time - but I'm 100% convinced I did not. I've been asking around actually about this guy. Without telling people my story (or even giving hints) the general opinion seems to be a polite "oh, Mr xxx - he's a henjin" which is reassuring.
