Any tips for family ski vacation?

There are some town with many resort in small area good for choice. For example, Yuzawa in Niigata or Hakuba in Nagano or Shiga Kogen in Nagano or Myoko Kogen in Niigata. It might be good idea. I think everybody likes Nozawa. -

When I was much younger my first ski was Ogasaka. It was 2nd hand and very old, even then! I think my parents still have it in storage. -

What is a tidbit? Its a funny word, is it common. I heard it means something like small piece of information.

One advantage of being slim and small is seat on plane is not too bad (still not fun). Sometimes I look at big foreigner guy and feel sorry for them in small seat.
