  1. Miles for distance is okay with me. I can convert it in my brain but feet and inches for mountain height is still hard.
  2. Shhhhh Maoriboy, see lots of zarus are already interested!!
  3. Yep, when someone got babies we present something. Diapers, money, clothes, babybaggy etc etc. Especially my parents recommended me to present some "yellow" stuff (towels, toys whatever ) to put just besides the babies to avoid "Ohdan" which is brought when bilirubin in the blood of the babies increases. No scientific reasons, I think it's just a tradition or a legend.
  4. Hummm Bananas=absolutely crazy? Interesting to know. I think I often go bananas, then Are any other fruits used to mean something special hard to guess?
  5. I think that one farquah showed is just for play. Not a vending machine. You put a 100 yen then you push the green and red button at the middle. Probably you are to operate the 3 yellow nailed hand in the air in the box to grab the robster. Or is it really a vending machine, farquah?
  6. Coz at the begining, Daigaku imo was sold just close to Tokyo university gate.
  7. I would make more giant sundae (woteva ) in a big mag full of whip cream and yogurt maybe.

  9. And if you got a chance to visit Otaru, I think you can try a lot sea food, ezorisu.

  11. 32cms shoes available here Not sure if it's enough equal to U.S.12 or not.
  12. Very slightly yes there is, I think. Vocablary Brits tend to use. Lovely Superb Whilist Aisle Lift (for elevator) Underground (for metro, subway) etc. Sorry if it's namaiki being a non-English native speaker. lol..... But honest.
  13. Just tried google and found an interesting description at wikipedia. #1. Because Mr.Hayashi Yuuteki created it. #2. Because one cheff Mr.Hayashi created it as a staff menu. #3. "Hashed beef with Rice" was corrupted. So, maybe no one is sure which?
  14. In my experiene, British people tend to speak calm and quiet. Maybe because they expect me to understand what they think. And vocablary. British people often say "lovely" for everything. I think the word "love" has a special feeling so if they say "lovely" to what you do, to what there are, the other feels comfortable. Quote: I like the Japanese English accent best. The other day one of guests took a short video and we watched it. In the video I felt my English was terrible.....
  15. No, they are not the ones I took. They love walnuts, pine seed, peanuts, sunflower seed, butter when no bugs are available in winter.
  16. Bushpig, Titmice (Shijukara in J ) Check-a-dee (Kogara in J )
  17. I guess something like " How Japanese should be".
  18. Yep, nicole. I didn't believe it but tried. Then see you can never expect the harmony while you don't try. A curious boy can get something interesting.
  19. They have much longer horns than kamoshika, Toque. I wonder if that guy in the pic keeps it or it's a wild one? Not sure if there's enough kamoshika here or not. Maybe titmice, check-a-dees are "enough" here, but not sure if we have "enough" kamoshika or not. They are not what we can find whenever we walk around the mountains. They don't make a group, usually live alone or just with mom while they are kids. I hear some local ppl here hunt bears, wild ducks and wild gooses though.
  20. And now it's snowing here in Hakuba. Weather forcast says it will be snowy tomorrow, next Fri to Sun. BTW Congrats on your 100th posts RockyV!
  21. Kintaro, didn't it hurt when you did it? Humm... teeth may be also different like eye shape is different.
  22. Quote: Originally posted by Toque: Are you sure about that Gamera I thought I had heard about people eating Kamoshika. I bet they taste really good. Maybe in some region people might do but anyway they are natural monuments to be protected. I'm not sure they are yummy or not. Toque have you ever eaten Antelopes in Canada?
  23. Exactly sometimes it's warmer than usual at this time of the year. And usually in this mid February I am busy to play with my baddy da snowblower but have not played a lot this season. But I am not worrying so much because I have not heard Kawarahiwa (Oriental Greenfinch) visit us to sing yet. When spring is coming, Kawarahiwa visit us then Atori (Brambling) then Johbitaki (Daurian Redstart)do but have never heard or seen any of them yet.
